Xero News March 2022 The latest in product, ecosystem, partnerships and business at Xero What we’ve been working on Deep dive Xero App Launcher helps small businesses find apps faster We recently announced the Xero App Launcher, a new way for our customers to launch and sign into their favourite apps. The launcher is the first major update to Xero’s App Store since we launched it in August 2021 and is available now to our three million subscribers globally. The Xero App Launcher lets small businesses and their advisors easily launch connected apps via a simple dropdown tab on their My Xero dashboard. Customers can also open the Xero App Store via the launcher to find new apps to solve their business challenges. By enabling our customers to easily find and launch their apps from within Xero, we’re focused on providing a more seamless, integrated user experience that helps small businesses and their advisors get their work done faster and more efficiently. Xero updates We’ve made a number of updates on the Xero platform over the past month. Global An easier way to import contacts into Xero We’ve improved the way customers import contacts into Xero, with a refreshed design and simplified language on the import page. Users will notice a new tabular layout that will help them handle any errors during the import process. New contacts features in the Xero Accounting app New functionality in the Xero Accounting app gives users more flexibility when using contacts on the go. Updates to the search field make it easier to find contacts in a hurry, and the contact screen now shows an overview of what each contact owes or is owed. Users can also sort contacts by name, amount owing and owed, email and date added. Empowering new employees to submit expense claims in Xero Me We’re making it easier to submit expense claims and manage other employee-driven processes in the Xero Me app. New employees will now be directed to download Xero Me, which features the same expense technology as the Xero Expenses app, while also providing a fresh new look to make managing everyday admin easier than ever. United Kingdom Making MTD simple for businesses Making Tax Digital (MTD), the government initiative to digitise taxes, is moving ahead at pace. Xero is proudly MTD-compliant, HMRC-recognised and constantly implementing a roster of additional features that make running a business and managing finances simple. From April, businesses under the VAT threshold will need to comply with MTD. At the same time, the HMRC pilot for MTD for Income Tax Self Assessment (ITSA) kicks off. This phase will impact a large number of sole traders and landlords in the coming years. Based in Seattle, Brian is a professional director who brings extensive experience from his career as an executive and CEO driving growth and innovation for leading technology, software-as-a-service and cloud-based companies. His CEO experience includes leading Pandora Media, a streaming music provider in the US, and aQuantive, a digital marketing services and technology company that was acquired by Microsoft.
