          IQA’s Vision: Educating and Connecting our Extractive Industry

1. Learn of current New Zealand quarrying practices and methods in line with recent
regulatory changes.

2. Learn of the mandated Worksafe New Zealand Certificate of Competency Requirements for
Quarry Managers and Supervisors, lessons learnt from implementation, and potential impacts
if such a mandatory requirement is introduced into Australia.

3. Develop professional networking relationships with New Zealand colleagues to share and
develop leading practice.

4. Engage in personal learning outside of your current workplace by actively participating and
challenging your current beliefs, ideas, and assumptions.

5. Learn of quarrying practices dating back 750 years to build homes, storage pits, terraces, and
dry-stone farm walls.

6. Learn of renewable energy sources and the challenges of establishing such sources in
populated areas.

7. Learn of the newest and upcoming technologies regarding drill and blasting.

8. Learn of current operating and safety systems, emergency management practices and core
leadership capabilities via the IQNZ Conference Program plenary sessions.

Additional Information:
Australian passport holders do not require a visa to travel to New Zealand. A valid passport is
required with a minimum of 6 months validity from the date of return back into Australia.

Travel insurance is highly recommended. Cover for the duration with no pre-existing
conditions would be AUD160 per person based on travellers under 55 years of age. Travel
Insurance can protect you in the case of unforeseen circumstances. If you require a PDS to

Twin Share pricing is based 2 adults in one room. Bedding configuration will be either 2 x
double beds or 1 x double beds and 1 x single bed or 2 x single beds.

Single occupancy rooms are based on 1 adult in one room. Bedding configuration will be
either 1 x queen bed or 1 x double bed.

All efforts will be made to confirm flights and accommodation listed above at the stated
price. Accommodation and flights cannot be guaranteed until full payment of flights has been
received, a copy of your passport and a deposit for accommodation has been received. Flights
are based on restricted economy class fares. There are penalties for changes and cancellations.
Flexible fares and business class fares are available upon request.
