CONTINUE TO WEAR A MASK

DO I NEED TO WEAR A MASK AND AVOID CLOSE CONTACT WITH OTHERS IF I HAVE
           BEEN VACCINATED?

 Yes. The CDC recommends that during the pandemic people wear a mask that covers their nose and
mouth when in contact with others outside your household, when in healthcare facilities, and
when receiving any vaccine, including a COVID-19 vaccine.

 While experts learn more about the protection that COVID-19 vaccines provide under real-life
conditions, it will be important for everyone to continue using all the tools available to us to help stop
this pandemic, like covering your mouth and nose with a mask, washing hands often, and staying at
least 6 feet away from others.

MEMBRANE RNA VACCINE SIDE EFFECTS

 Systemic signs and symptoms following COVID-19 vaccination can include
fever, fatigue, headache, chills, muscle pain, and joint pain.

 Most are
  • mild to moderate in severity
  • occur within the first 3 days of vaccination
  • resolve within 1-2 days of onset

 Systemic adverse reactions were more commonly reported after the second
dose than after the first dose and were generally more frequent and severe in
persons aged 18–55 years than in those aged >55 years.*

 Cough, shortness of breath, rhinorrhea, sore throat, or loss of taste or smell are
  not consistent with post-vaccination symptoms.
                                                                                       24

                         COVID-19 Health Equity Pilot Projects

                         • The California Department of Public Health (CDPH)
Office of Health Equity (OHE) will administer $5M to
                           ~16-30 community-based organizations (CBO) led
by and serving communities facing inequities in
                           COVID-19 impacts and infection.

                         • CBOs will use the funding for pilot projects to reduce
underlying inequities in the social determinants of
health that have contributed to disproportionate
harm from the Coronavirus among certain
                           communities.
