objectives. Keynote speakers will address national trends followed by interactive sessions
where participants will engage in hands-on learning, acquire, and practice new skills and
work together as a team.

Targeted Audience: The workshop is designed for physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and
other members of the healthcare team at the novice to advanced beginner levels who are
interested in using simulation in healthcare education.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of the course, learners should be able to:

• Apply the fundamentals and theories in simulation-based education in their practice
• Create a comprehensive simulation exercise utilizing the step-by-step approach in
    simulation design
• Practice conversation strategies with members of interprofessional teams to promote
critical thinking and reasoning in debriefing exercises
• Demonstrate effective debriefing using reflective learning and integration of knowledge
    to close performance gaps
• Evaluate effectiveness of your simulation design on meeting learning outcomes on
    multiple levels
