◼ Our firm has been deeply rooted in the Central Valley, for over 33 years with 42 local
team members who are focused on K-12 facilities.

◼ Our approach remains the same whether we are doing a small modernization project for
a small school district or a large education center for a larger district; we listen to the
district's needs and try to maximize the dollars spent. Many of our recent projects are
for small or one school districts such as Sunnyside Union Elementary School District,

districts receive the same attention as our larger districts clients such as Fresno Unified
School District, Clovis Unified School District and Central Unified School District. We
are here to serve you for the long run.

◼ We approach every project collaboratively and view ourselves as mutual partners in the
process and work with your stakeholders every step of the way.

Our team encourages the free exchange of ideas. We firmly
believe a project’s success is dependent upon the abilities of
everyone involved to maintain a respectful and collaborative
working environment. Projects thrive when a working group is
dedicated to work continuously with the planning and design
team in developing project knowledge and understanding of
the basis of decisions. All suggestions brought by SUSD staff
will be explored and imputed once vetted and discussed.

Coordination of Design, Construction Documents and
Construction Administration
Building upon all information generated during the previous
phases, the SIM-PBK/LEAF team will prepare a complete
and coordinated set of construction documents. The LEAF
team will submit the documents in-house through the quality
control team which will ensure continuous coordination
between all project team members and SUSD.

built over the years, we must adhere to our clients’ budget
      requirements.

Quality Assurance
As an integral part of the construction team, our job is
to make sure all team members know and perform their
expected tasks. This is accomplished by proactively directing
communication and workflow so that every team member
has the opportunity to perform their duties correctly and
efficiently. The communication protocol established at the
beginning, and accountability amongst the team is mutually
agreed upon. In a collaborative meeting, team members
review the drawings and specifications to establish a thorough
understanding of the project goals. Everyone on the team
agrees to the schedule and commits to meeting the project
deadlines. SIM-PBK and the team of consultants understand
the importance of being accessible and willing to help solve
job site dilemmas. Ultimately, this team approach to building
means more success to the District and the Community.

CHANGE ORDER DATA

Change Order Control
SIM-PBK takes the approach to proposed change orders very seriously. One of our primary responsibilities will be to deliver
a project that adheres to Sierra Unified School Districts budget. The best way to diminish change orders is with quality
construction documents. However, contractor and owner-initiated proposed changes are a natural part of the construction
process. When proposed change requests are presented by the owner or the contractor, we make it our responsibility to review
the proposed change in conjunction with the approved project scope, budget and schedule. It is critical that the team weigh
the importance of the proposed change along with any available contingency dollars in order to properly weigh the benefit to
the project. SIM-PBK commonly employs a contingency allowance in order to provide cushion for unforeseen circumstances
that might affect final cost. This allowance is reserved strictly for unforeseen items that are absolutely necessary to fulfill all
project requirements.

Upon receipt of a change request, the SIM-PBK team will discuss the time frame with Sierra USD prior to processing a change
order proposal. It will be necessary for the entire team to heavily scrutinize any proposed changes that are issued beyond the
optimum time frame given the obvious potential negative impacts to the project budget and schedule. The team will make a
definitive decision and approve a delayed change order only if the project contingency and schedule can accommodate the
proposal.

CUSTOMER SERVICE COMMITMENT
SIM-PBK was founded on a culture that prioritizes client
service, professional integrity, and continuous growth
as our fundamental values within a well-defined set of
core ideologies. These values require that SIM-PBK staff
continuously demonstrate the most responsive service to
any client request or problem — we never settle for simply
satisfying a client in our solutions to design and construction
challenges but constantly seek to exceed expectations every
time. We regularly seek feedback from our clients to ensure
that this is occurring at all levels of the firm.

We know our success is determined exclusively by our
clients, and it's because of this that we aim to consistently
meet their expectations. Every aspect of our firm, from
selection of personnel to design methods and construction
services, has been strategically planned to respond to the
specific needs of our educational clients. Our team operates
on a die-hard “can-do” business philosophy that emphasizes
SIM-PBK’s strongest cultural characteristic: to go above and
beyond the call of duty to ensure that our clients receive the
best possible service in the industry.
