TAFE Design Option
A career in Interior Design is now a new three-year Bachelor's degree
program. From 2011, Sydney Institute will introduce TAFE NSW's first
degree program - Bachelor of Design (Interior Design) at Design Centre
Enmore. This will be the first of a number of degree courses that will be
on offer with further higher education programs to become available in

UNSW - The Robertson Scholars Program
Julian and Josie Robertson have generously offered two places to talented
Australian undergraduate students each year.
The Program valued at up to $50,000 per annum provides full tuition,
room and board and a living stipend. In addition, support is provided for

Apprenticeships with Schindler
Schindler Lifts Australia has opportunities for aspiring people looking to
get into an electrical fitter / mechanic apprenticeship. Schindler is offering
apprenticeships in NSW. An apprenticeship with Schindler offers you the
chance to gain diverse skills across a broad range of areas including
installation, service, repairs and modernisation of elevators, escalators

Bond University - Medicine (MBBS) Information Sessions
With a three-semester-per-year timetable and intensive clinical training
periods, the 15-semester degree is completed in just 4 years and 8
months, with graduates then eligible to apply for hospital internships or
undergo further training in any of the Australasian specialty colleges.
The MBBS is program is accredited by the Australian Medical Council and
is open to school-leavers, undergraduate and postgraduate applicants.

Sydney Film School Open Day
Open Day - the opportunity to come in and find out the answers to all the
questions you might have about studying film at the Waterloo premises.
The day starts with screening a sample of recent short dramas and
documentaries produced by SFS students.
It continues with a panel of key teachers supported by a couple of

graduates and current students discussing the real experience of the
Sydney Film School’s practical - hands on training, both in 16mm and
digital film. This is the moment to meet the teachers, ask the questions,
find out a bit more about the course structure, application process,
timetables, school's philosophy and similar.

FREE Autostart Programs
Looking to get a foot in the door of the car mechanic industry but don't
know where to start? Autostart can get you on the road to a great career
with a host of automotive pre-apprenticeship programs.
The Autostart and Blue Card programs give you a unique insight into the
motor industry and provide hands on practical skills through organised
work experience.
The Blue Card Program was developed by Autostart to give young aspiring
mechanics the chance to gain first hand insight into what the automotive
industry is really like. The training involves learning automotive
fundamentals over two and a half days with visits by guest speakers from
various industry groups, participation in group workshops, and an eye
opening tour of a quality motor dealership.

The Autostart basic program is a 6 week automotive pre-apprenticeship
course that'll help kick start your career in mechanics. The course gives
you the opportunity to develop a solid background in motor mechanics
and covers various subjects including diagnostics, cooling systems and
electrics.

September, and 4th October, and then across the Sydney Metropolitan

The Ella Baché College of Skin and Beauty Therapy offers training in
Beauty Therapy with access to a network of over 200 Ella Baché Salons
and 35 David Jones stores nationally that provide work experience and
jobs for students. In fact, over 70% of their students start their careers
within the Ella Baché network. Qualifications available are:

National Youth Theatre Company - Applications Open
The National Youth Theatre Company is committed to mentoring and
educating Australia's next generation of theatre-makers through the
provision of high quality initiatives for young people. NYTC develops and
maintains accessible platforms for the continuing education and
promotion of young artists, with a vision to sustain an enriching and
vibrant theatrical community.
The National Youth Theatre Company is based in Erskineville, Sydney.

In 2011, UTS Business will introduce a new structure for the Bachelor of
Business and Bachelor of Accounting degree programs. While theses

New Bachelor of Design in Interior and Spatial Design
The UTS Faculty of Design, Architecture & Building (DAB) are offering a
new course in 2011. With a strong emphasis on creativity and technology,
the Bachelor of Design in Interior and Spatial Design is the first course of
its kind in Australia. It equips graduates with critical thinking, creativity

NEW Discover the Midwife in U@UTS Workshops
With the increasing interest in the midwifery profession, the faculty of
Nursing Midwifery and Health will now host new Discover the Midwife in
U@UTS workshops, to anyone wanting to learn more about or study
midwifery. These hands-on workshops are held at the City campus giving
individuals a taste of what it’s really like to be a midwife. Anyone
considering midwifery as a profession or those who just want to find out
more can attend. Parents and partners are also welcome.

CSU launches Rural Medical Plan to remedy doctor crisis
Charles Sturt University (CSU) last week launched its plan to establish
Australia’s third medical school based in rural Australia. The medical
education program will be based at CSU in Orange with dentistry, oral
health, pharmacy, clinical science, physiotherapy, rehabilitation science
and distance nursing. This will allow CSU to use its existing anatomy,
physiology, biology, pharmacology and cadaver laboratories at Orange in
the medical program. The clinical experience program will be centred at
CSU in Bathurst with paramedics, nursing, exercise science and
psychology.

Skillex NSW - a unique skills-focused event
Skillex NSW has been developed to help address current and future skills’
needs. Skillex NSW will be free for the public to attend and will be held
over 3 days at Sydney Olympic Park, Thursday 21 to Saturday 23 October
