The strength of the cyclones are measured by the wind speeds they generate. At its
strongest, Nisarga would be associated with wind speeds in the range 95-105 km per
hour. Amphan, on the other hand, was classified as a super-cyclone, of category 5,
though it had weakened to category 4, ‘Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm’, ahead of its
landfall, at which time the wind speeds were in excess of 180 kph.

Wind is picking up along the coast. Ratnagiri recorded 55 kmph at 08:30 IST. Squally
wind reaching 55-65 kmph gusting to 75 kmph prevails along & off Konkan coast. It will
gradually increase becoming 100-110 kmph gusting to 120 kmph in the afternoon during
landfall time. (9;30am).

Cyclone "Niarga" was moving northeastwards with a speed of 12 kmph towards north
Maharashtra coast. It is 140 km south-southwest of Alibag, 190 km south-southwest of
Mumbai and 415 km south-southwest of Surat at 0730 hours IST of 03.06.2020.

Cloud band is engulfing Maharashtra coast. Rainfall will gradually increase over
Maharashtra coast. Rainfall reported during 0830 hours IST of 02.06.20 to 0630 hours
IST of 03.06.20: Goa-74 mm, Ratnagiri-20 mm, Harnai-13 mm, Colaba-37, Santacruz-
21 and Dahanu-04 mm.

Cyclonic Storm ‘NISARGA’ over Arabian Sea at 0530 hrs of today 03 Jun, abt 165 km
ssw of Alibagh, 215 km ssw of Mumbai. To cross close to south of Alibagh (Raigad
District, Maharashtra) during the afternoon of today the 03rd June as a SCS, 100-110,
gust 120 kmph, aftrenoon.

    in BMC area. So, structured inspection of COVID19 Health Centers set up
    temporarily at various places in BMC area should be done again by
    concerned contractors: Greater Mumbai Municipal
