LEARNING MATERIALS PROGRAM (credit classes only)
4 CMC is proud to offer students an innovative solution to the challenge most college students
encounter: obtaining the correct textbooks. https://coloradomtn.edu/classes/textbooks/

      HOW LMP WORKS:
4 The CMC Learning Materials Program (LMP) is an integrated program designed to deliver
student’s textbooks directly to them at the beginning of the semester. Books must be
returned at the conclusion of the semester or if a class is dropped unless the student
          chooses to purchase their books.
4 Many of the programs offered at CMC take part in the Learning Materials Program, though
there are certain programs that have been excluded from this program. A book symbol &
in the course title will indicate they are a part of the LMP. Please note this is a flat program
fee and some classes do not required textbooks.
4 Student accounts will reflect the associated $29 per credit hour charge on their
registration statement for any credit classes included in the LMP. Auditing students will not
be charged for textbooks and will have to order the book(s) independently. Please note this
is a flat program fee and some classes do not require textbooks.
4 It is MANDATORY that textbooks are returned within seven (7)days of dropped courses or
by the last date of the semester to avoid the automatic buy-out charges which are based
on the price of the textbook materials.

      HOW TO RECEIVE YOUR BOOKS:
4 Students must verify their address each semester on the CMC LMP dashboard at
Basecamp > Student Resources > Learning Materials Program > Verify Address >
Ship to My Home > Submit. Textbooks will NOT be delivered until students verify their
          address each semester.
4 Textbooks are shipped via UPS. They cannot deliver to PO Boxes, please verify with a
          physical address.

      HOW TO RETURN YOUR BOOKS:
4 Students must return the text books the last date of the semester or within 7 days after
dropping a class. Students who fail to return books by this deadline will be charged an
automatic fee based on the cost of the book.
       4 To return:
OPTION 1: Drop your textbook(s) off to Spring Valley anytime or Carbondale campus
M-TH. The Aspen campus will accept returns only during finals week.
OPTION 2: Print a free UPS shipping label from the CMC LMP Dashboard under
“Manage my returns,” and ship them using UPS at any of their drop-off locations
Basecamp > Student Resources > Learning Materials Program > Manage My Returns >
Return At End Of Term > Print free labels!

In this class, we will focus on three things: generating the content, reading like writers, and talking
about craft issues that you will then work on within your stories. We will also do writing exercises
in the class designed to create content for you to work with over the week. Talks about craft will be
central to the craft and will include topics such as dialogue, setting, structure, plot, point of view,
and character. This is a class where participation is required as is reading and writing outside of
class. The trick to writing is simple though, you just have to sit down and do it. The exercises will help
you achieve word count. The lessons will help you look deeper into what you are writing and how to
improve. Some class types may change and some in-person classes may be canceled if local public
health orders warrant. Visit coloradomtn.edu/trailmap for the latest information.

fiction. Learn the writing tricks and techniques that help turn memoir, interviews, editorials, literary
journalism and research into interesting, reader-grabbing stories. Students will read, reflect, write
and share their work with the class. This is an opportunity to hone your writing skills for both personal
and professional goals. Class is taught online and a link will be emailed shortly before the first class.

athletic clothing, water, snacks, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a layer to put on as the afternoon
cools off. All body types are welcome although some gear may need to be adjusted to fit personal
