STAYING SAFE IN THE HEAT                                        HEAT EXHAUSTION SYMPTOMS:

   sunglasses, and sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher.

If heat stroke is suspected, call for emergency medical help;
move the worker to a shady area and place him or her in a
tub of cool water or cool shower if possible, or spray the
victim with a garden hose. Do not give the victim any
fluids to drink.

                     Brandon DePew
I am currently assigned to patrol with the addition of
teaching DARE to the 5th grade students of Dickinson
County.

In the 8th grade, we were supposed to research a
career choice for what we wanted to be when we
grew up. I chose law enforcement, but was told that I
needed to select something else because I was
colorblind and that career was not an option for me.
In response to that, I told them I wanted to be a
mixologist (a fancy name for a bartender). Somehow,
that was approved, and now I have the privilege of
being a law enforcement officer that educates our
