Director’s Note Summer 2022 th ugust 26 June 20 - A In past Director’s notes I have th finished with the phrase “Re- member to Feel Great RECRE- ATE.” Well it is time for me to heed my own advice as I will be retiring at the Parks Recreation/ Youth Services Director on Sep- Monday - Friday Sessions tember 9. I have been blessed and June 20st - August 26th appreciative of the opportunity to serve in this position for the past 17 ½ years. East Lyme will forever have a lasting place in my David M. Putnam heart. Serving as the Director in the community where I was raised and will continue to reside has truly been a pleasure. I have had the privilege of working with dedicated and enthusi- astic staff who remain committed to providing unique program opportunities and quality parks. I can’t thank each of them enough for all their hard work. A huge thanks to the Parks and Recreation and Youth Services Commissions for your trust and guidance. I also had the pleasure of working with 5 (five) dif- ferent First Selectmen all who supported the efforts of the de- partment and cared deeply about our community. Thank you. Finally, I would like to thank the East Lyme Community, our program participants and park patrons for making every day an adventure. No two days were ever the same. I might be just a little biased, but I believe we have some of the nicest parks and amenities in New England the recreation areas make East Lyme a special place to work, live and play. It is now time for me to feel great and RECREATE.
