About the River Course
Designed by Tom Fazio, the River Course opened in 1995 as The Kiawah Island Club’s first golf course. For
golfers, the River Course provides a challenging and aesthetically pleasing 7,019-yard test. It boasts six holes
that play along the river’s edge, with the other fairways and greens playing along picturesque marsh savannas,
ponds, and the Island’s incomparable maritime forests.

Foundation Overview
Every child in every community in South Carolina does not

have access to the same educational opportunities. So Nikki

Haley founded the Original Six Foundation to help fill the

gaps. We work with schools, teachers and community

members to identify needs. Then we address them in practical

ways. We provide funding, and we often develop and help

implement customized programs. And we monitor impact—not

just in test scores but through child-by-child advancement. It is

direct and focused work, and it is how lives and futures are

changed.

Since partnering with rural schools in 2016, the Original Six Foundation has served over 16,000 children. While

engaging over 300+ certified teachers throughout the state, we have provided over 13,000 of hours of homework

assistance. In addition to our afterschool programming, O6 has donated 58,500+ books to local schools and

community partners. We have provided funding for literacy supportive tools to schools and have reached over 7,000

students.

Served 16 underprivileged schools in eight school
