WELCOME NEW MEMBERS!
We celebrate the gifts the three newest members of Grace bring to our congregation, and we give
thanks to God for the Holy Spirit leading them to us despite a pandemic!
Received into membership in the Spring of 2020: Jesse Peterson.
Received into membership on July 18, 2021: Jennifer Hockenbery and Hope Dragseth.
Jesse Peterson is a neuropsychologist with Bellin Health. He moved to
Green Bay and looked up Grace. (He reports that he is “very Lutheran.”)
He started to worship with the congregation right before the pandemic
closed things down. Jesse is a huge Wisconsin sports fan and likes to
get outside and be active. Jesse serves on the Board of Celebration and
is a member of the choir as well as a worship assistant on Sunday
mornings.
Jennifer Hockenbery learned about Grace in the autobiography of
Norman Miller. Mr. Miller praised Grace for supporting him as a
Jewish businessman in the 1950’s when there was a great deal of
anti-Semitism. Upon relocating to Green Bay, Jennifer decided to
check out our congregation and then join. Jennifer is a philosopher
and a Dean at St. Norbert College. Jennifer is currently serving as a
“substitute” lector on Sundays at the 10:00 a.m. service. She has three
children, Luke, Phoebe, and Hope.
Hope Dragseth (Jennifer’s daughter) is a sophomore at East De Pere
High School. She enjoys running track and cross country. Hope also
plays the saxophone and has been invited to join “the band” for
occasional music at worship.

Grace Music Scholarship

Any member of Grace is welcome to apply
for a Grace Music Scholarship for 2021 – 2022 school year.
Applications and details are available on the desk in the Parlor, in the Church Office, or at
www.gracegb.org
Deadline to return an application to church is Sunday, August 29, 2021.
● Scholarships are for any member of Grace taking music lessons of any kind during the 2021 –
2022 school year.
● Scholarships may also be used to cover the cost of participating in a Green Bay Boy Choir or
Girl Choir.*
● Scholarships are $320 reimbursements for the cost of music lessons (see details).
● Recipients are expected to share their music at Grace during their scholarship year (see details).
● You will be contacted by the scholarship committee to schedule an audition (an interview if you
are a beginner or joining a Boy or Girl Choir).
● Please contact Pastor Larry with questions.
*Students aged 7 to high school senior are invited to audition for membership in the choirs. Contact

small group guide will
work with an assigned
small group of 3-6
confirmation students.
Guide responsibilities
include assisting
students in their small
group during
confirmation classes,
encouraging youth to
complete assignments
and serving as Christian
role models. Time
commitment: 6:30-7:30
