Important Information for Grandstand Stewards Using this guide In this guide is a list of badges and wristbands that DO allow access to the grandstands. All grandstands excluding Kinrara and sponsor / partners allow roaming access via a pass for Festival of Speed. This guide also contains a map to help you familiarise yourself with the event and assist members of the public with directions, if asked. Guests without any tickets Dependent on availability tickets may be available to buy though collections on the day. This will be included in the staff briefing the morning of the event. Guests with disabilities/ wheelchairs There are two disabled viewing platforms next to the following locations: -Kinrara Enclosure - Thakeham Family Enclosure Pheasantry Grandstand also has allowance for wheelchair access Grandstands accessible to those with a roving grandstand pass Startline 1 Pheasantry Startline 2 Molecomb Corner 1 Park 1 Molecomb Corner 2 Park 2 Molecomb Corner 3 Park 3 Flint Wall Paddock 1 Paddock 2 Guests with metal VIP badges Those with a metal Festival of Speed badge should be directed to the Sponsors Grandstand, which can be found by Cartier Style et Luxe, nearby Goodwood House. Guests with Hospitality/VIP badges not listed below If any sponsors or hospitality guests try to access with their passes, please politely tell them that they do not have access to the roving grandstands. They should speak to their enclosure host to see whether they have access to the Sponsors grandstand.
Mobile phone policy In the event of an emergency or incident please do not take photos or video footage. Please radio or telephone through – dependant on the severity of the situation. Weather warnings Please find a guide of what to do in adverse weather situations at the back of this booklet. Grandstand photo updates Grandstand Supervisors are to send a picture of the grandstand via Whatsapp to the Ticket Office Control mobile number (07308 798 280) at the start of each race. Please send the image along with your grandstand’s name and the race name. This allows us to monitor traffic on the grandstands. Hidden Disabilities Please be aware of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower. Wearing one of the below is a discreet way for adults and children with hidden disabilities to show that they need additional support or just a little more time. Grandstand Access Access to the grandstand is permitted for those carrying the following swing badges or wristbands only (please note that swing badges are colour coded for each day):

Wristbands Access can be given to these wristband holders if they are fixing an issue or need to speak to someone, however they should not be using grandstand seats to view the content. GRANDSTAND EMERGENCY PROCEDURES This document is to give you general guidelines about procedures you have to follow in case of an emergency within a grandstand area. These incidents are: ● Fire ● Structural failure ● Suspect package ● Medical emergency EVACUATION If an evacuation of a grandstand becomes necessary, make sure you follow these steps: ● Raise the visitor’s attention by standing to the top of the exit steps and raise your arms ● Be as loud as you can, use a loudhailer if you have one ● Act and talk in a calm but direct manner ● Point in the direction of escape ● Walk with the last remaining people, give aid to people in need FIRE When discovering a fire: ● Call control immediately, report the exact location of the fire. ● Is there imminent danger to people? Fire In front of the grandstand (bales) As the fire might spread quicker than expected it is important to act quickly. By only using the exit staircase further away from the fire calmly ask people to leave the grandstand and direct them in a direction away from the fire and away from the bales Fire underneath the grandstand By using all staircases calmly ask people to leave by directing them away from the grandstand
Fire in the vicinity of the grandstand Be prepared to evacuate the grandstand by using the exit furthest away from the fire In this incident the need for an evacuation will come from the Joint Event Control. Direct people in a direction away from the fire STRUCTURAL FAILURE A structural failure might be possible as the result of an accident such as an impact from a vehicle. ● Call control immediately ● The need for an evacuation will come from the JEC after consulting the onsite structural engineer SUSPECT PACKAGE Follow the H.O.T. principle: ● H – Has the item been Hidden? Has it deliberately been concealed? ● O – Is it Obviously suspicious? Does it seem odd or out of place, is there wires, liquids or batteries sticking out of it? ● T – Is it Typical for the location? Is the item what you would expect to see at your place of work? ● Ask people in the immediate area to identify their own belongings. ● Is the bag / item theirs? ● Does it belong to someone they know? ● Did they see who left it? ● Was there anything suspicious about the way it was left? Once the item has been deemed suspicious walk at least 15 meters away and inform control immediately. If it is possible / practical send runner to inform control. Give exact location, and await instructions on the radio.
MEDICAL EMERGENCY In case of a serious medical emergency, it might become necessary to partially or entirely clear a grandstand area. This instruction would come from the Joint Event Control team. MOBILE PHONE POLICY In the event of an emergency or incident please do not take photos or video footage. Weather & Wellbeing In the event that Goodwood Control issue a weather warning during the event, Ticket Office Control will communicate this directly to all gates and grandstands. The following recommendations explain what to do in the event of various weather warnings. Look out for and act on: Slippery surfaces including floors and handrails WhatsApp a photo to TOC with exact location Blocked or clogged drains WhatsApp a photo to TOC with exact location Flooding on walkways and access routes WhatsApp a photo to TOC with exact location WET WEATHER What to do: Wear waterproof clothing Look out for and act on: Loose barriers, temporary structures and screens Alert TOC via radio/phone with exact location HIGH WINDS and concern What to do: Keep doors closed where possible Wear windproof clothing THUNDER AND Look out for and act on: LIGHTENING Guests standing under trees
Advise guests to move to a low spot away from trees Guests using umbrellas Ask guests to take down umbrella immediately Younger guests who may be frightened Reassure families with young children, direct them to a safe area Grandstand guests in higher spots Advise guests to move to seats at a lower level, if you have concerns about the safety of any guests in the grandstand radio/phone TOC with exact location What to do: Avoid standing under trees Avoid using an umbrella Find a low spot away from fences and poles Look out for and act on: Icy surfaces and slip hazards WhatsApp a photo to TOC with exact location Snow and ice build-up on steps and walkways WhatsApp a photo to TOC with exact location Any queues building that expose guests to cold SNOW AND LOW weather for long periods of time TEMPERATURES WhatsApp a photo to TOC with exact location What to do: Wear hats, gloves and scarves Try to keep moving Take regular breaks in the warm Drink hot drinks like tea and coffee Look out for and act on: Vulnerable guests such as the elderly, young children and babies Reassure at-risk guests, offer seat in shade or escort to covered area. Any guests requiring emergency medical HIGH attention should be reported to Main Control TEMPERATURES with exact location. Those requiring non- emergency medical attention should be escorted to a treatment centre. Exposed metals such as handrails and crash barriers Be cautious and advise guests accordingly
