ALPHA Centauri Alpacas
Alpha Centauri Alpacas is a multi-award winning stud established in 2002
After almost 30 years combined service in the Australian Army, Andrew and Bronwyn established Alpha Centauri Alpacas in 2002.
Andrew has held positions of committee member and President at AAA Regional level and was a member and Chair of the AAA Fibre
Market Development Reference Panel.
Andrew is one of only a handful of qualified Professional Alpaca Wool Classers and he is very actively involved in the collection and
classing of alpaca fibre for both Australian and international clients. Andrew is lucky enough to have his hands on over 100,000kg of
both Huacaya and Suri fibre annually
Andrew and Bronwyn have managed their alpacas on properties in NSW and currently reside on their 175 acre farm at Warrenbayne
in Victoria. We currently manage a breeding herd of over 300 alpacas consisting of both Huacaya and Suri. Our stud is consistently
rewarded for our efforts at both regional, Royal and National Shows for animals and fleeces
Employed full-time off farm, we spend the rest of our time with the alpacas which is challenging and very rewarding. For us, alpacas
are not just a business but a way of life and we enjoy the enormous amount of pleasure and reward that comes with owning,
managing and breeding these beautiful and intelligent animals.
Andrew and Bronwyn are both AAA accredited judges and between them have been fortunate to have judged many of our top shows
in every state in Australia. We feel extremely privileged every time we have the opportunity to judge both animals and fleeces and we
are excited by the continued advancements in the quality of both.
Many of our alpacas in this catalogue are show stock or show quality stock from some of our best bloodlines. We hope you find

Trevis & Tammy Bird of Greygum Alpaca Stud have been in the industry since 1997. Our 170 acre property is
situated at Kialla, 10 minutes south of Shepparton in the northern centre of Victoria, we share our love of
Alpacas with our children Jack and Macey. We are smaller breeders with a herd of 100 animals of varied solid
colours including white, fawn and brown. We have predominantly use EP Cambridge bloodlines which you

Hidden Lake is an Australian Alpaca stud, that specialises in breeding beautiful black suris. Hidden Lake was established
by Steve and Sue Pate, who through commitment and careful selection, developed Hidden Lake into one of Australia's
most respected black suri studs.
The new owners of Hidden Lake are Ian and Angela Preuss,(Surilana Alpacas), Viv and Romanie Blacker (Arachello -
Coloured Suri Alpaca) and Trish Robb (Azzura). Together they are committed to continuing Sue and Steve’s vision in
taking Hidden Lake from strength to strength. We are proud of the fact that Hidden Lake suris have now been sold to New
Zealand and UK breeders who are excelling with these genetics.

A 68 acre farm in the North East Victoria region. Koonapacas is now in its 8th year in the industry. We have diversified into
all colours.
At Koonapacas it is very hands on with the alpacas. We do our own shearing and working with the alpacas. Even though we

Manna-Gum Farm Alpacas have been breeding huacayas since 1992. Our primary focus has been to breed elite black alpacas,
but inevitably we have produced all other colours in the effort to achieve our goals. More recently we have also been focusing
out attention to our grey breeding program.
Throughout our alpaca journey we have produced a number of black champions and age champions and a have strived to de-
velop bloodlines that display advanced fleece styles, low micron and good
density, while at the same time have true to type heads and good balance. We believe that the females are offering a selection of
females that meet these goals.

Jupiter joined Alpha Centauri Alpacas in 2011 after catching our attention with the exceptional brightness, density and
structure of his fleece which is all packed on a great sturdy frame. This elite stud sire has an impressive show career and
is an 11 time Supreme Champion. His ability to pass on his fleece characteristics and frame to his progeny has been
proven in the show ring with his progeny being awarded over 20 Supreme Championships. Jupiter has also sired over
100 Champion and Reserve Champion ribbons. Jupiter has been awarded 50 places in Sires Progeny. He was 1st and 3rd
place for Sires Progeny at 2014 National and 3 out of the last 4 years at Sydney Royal. Jupiter took over the reigns from
our foundation stud males - Shanbrooke Society Class Act and Woodland Chase Milagro. This high impact male is
exceptionally well regarded and is deserving of his reputation as a stud sire of choice in the Australian Alpaca industry.

Kommissar was an outstanding example of the cream of our breeding program.
The culmination of great genetics such as Benleigh Lorimer, Benleigh Bellisimo
and Jolimont Conquistador. A near carbon copy of his elite sire Elysion Jupiter and carries all his fantastic qualities. He
was highly awarded at all levels of showing including National (Champion Senior Male 2014) Royal and Regional level. He
was awarded Supreme Champion at the 2014 Royal Bathurst Show. Since a cria he has been affectionately known as
‘The Little Lamb’ due to his dense greasy fleece, chunky frame, skin rolls galore and the soft, silky rolls of skin across his
nose. Kommissar had an extremely dense fleece which opened like a book and was bright white with an even highly
aligned crimp structure. We have used Kommissar extensively in our breeding program. All of his offspring are showing
the traits for which Kommissar is known. Brilliant brightness, density, high frequency crimp with a high degree of
curvature. Sold to The Netherlands in 2014 he was unfortunately stolen off farm in 2016.

Sunseeker is a 2 x National Supreme Champion for fleece. It doesn’t get much better than that. He caught our eye back
in 2015 and was on our radar since that time. Given the opportunity to purchase Sunseeker at the 2018 Rainbows End
auction we weren’t going to miss out. With an enviable pedigree including names like Camelot Tor, Shanbrooke Accoyo
Tulaco, Jolimont Sculptor, ILR PPPeruvian Auzengate and Windsong Valley Royal Inca he was always going to rise to the
top. We always felt that Sunseeker’s high frequency, deep amplitude, super dense fleece with great handle was the next
step for us and that it would compliment the styles of fleece being produce by Jupiter, Comanchee, Vyper and Addixion.

Kolorado is the spitting image of his sire Elysion Jupiter. He was born with an extremely greasy fleece very similar to that
expect in the merino sheep industry. His conformation is unquestionable and he is extremely potent. Kolorado is now
taking over a fair percentage of his sire’s workload as Jupiter is now 13 years of age. Kolorado has progeny on the
ground and there a some in this auction. He has an extremely dense fleece with excellent uniformity of micron and

Kamando is an amazing example of our Jupiter progeny. He has been awarded Supreme Champion 4 times including the
2017 Sydney Royal. Kamando has a super dense fleece with a very deep amplitude fleece style. His first progeny are now
starting to be born at Alpha Centauri and we could not be happier with the results. Kamando has the most placid nature
and is always the first to greet you in the paddock. He is passing this onto his progeny with them being extremely
curious and easy to handle. We are now using Kamando extensively in our breeding program and along with his full
brother Kolorado they are now taking over the reigns from their elite sire Elysion Jupiter.

Vyper is a compact male with a dense, crimpy fleece. He was awarded
Champion Junior Male at the Sydney Royal and Hawkesbury Shows in 2008. Vyper is the best of our Class Act breeding
and has taken over from his exceptional stud sire in our breeding programme.
Vyper sires progeny with exceptional density and a distinct lack of visible primary fibre. He has produced outstanding
results when joined to Jupiter progeny. He consistently produces colour when joined to coloured dams. We are amazed
with Vyper’s ability to significantly reduce the micron of primary fibre in his offspring. His progeny have exceptional
handle because of this and we use him regularly for this purpose.

We are extremely proud to be the current owners of Madiba. Breed by Liz and Rosemary at Longueville Park alpacas and
shown extensively by them he caught our eye way back in 2014. When presented with the opportunity to purchase
Maddie and add him to our stable of stud sires we jumped at the chance. Madiba joined us in late 2018 and since that
time has covered a number of our females both dark and light coloured. We are extremely confident in Madiba’s ability
to throw True Black cria with no colour contamination. We have seen many of his cria and they are all VERY BLACK.
Madiba has his first cria being born in Sept 2019 and we will be offering a very limited number of these cria for sale.

progeny her produces. Whilst he hasn’t been shown much due to his poor show ring behaviour, he has the fleece
qualities that we want to inject into our breeding program. Since a cria he has had an extremely heavy, greasy fleece
with an exceptionally deep and bold crimp along with a long staple length.
Addixion regularly gets the pick of the bunch from our elite females. He has produced numerous Champions. We are
extremely pleased with how he has influenced our breeding program and we have found him to be extremely
complimentary to our Jupiter and Comanchee breed lines.

Comanchee has a knockout pedigree which includes EP Cambridge Peruvian Maximus, Adori Accoyo Altaz, NWA Ltd

show careers and Comanchee has followed in their footsteps. Shanoa is one of our best and consistent breeding
females. His fleece was awarded Champion Light Fawn at Sydney Royal 2013 and 2015 and Reserve Champion 30-48
mths White at the AAA National Show 2013. Comanchee is a well grown male with a ‘look at me” attitude and great
