Smart India Hackathon 1. A unique IT Initiative under which students are encouraged to apply knowledge to the real life situations and to find innovative solutions to the day to day problems 2. launched on 16th October 2017. 3. It includes 2 sub- editions – Software as well as Hardware: 1. Software Edition- 36-hour software product development competition, similar in concept to SIH 2017. 2. In the new Hardware Edition of the Hackathon, the teams work for 5 consecutive days and build their hardware solutions for the proposed problem statements. 4. Impactful Policy Research in Social Sciences (IMPRESS) 1. UCHCHTAR AAVISHKAR ABHIYAAN 1. The scheme was launched to promote industry-specific need-based research so as to keep up the competitiveness of the Indian industry in the global market. 2. All the IITs have been encouraged to work with the industry to identify areas where innovation is required and come up with solutions that could be brought up to the commercialization level. 3. IIT Madras is the National Coordinator of the scheme. 4. These research projects are expected to result in registration of patents.

UGC (Institutions of Eminence Deemed to be Universities) Regulations, 2017 3. Government Institutions will get financial assistance of 1000 crores over a period of five years in addition to the grant already being received. 4. Small Farmers Agribusiness Consortium (SFAC) is the lead agency for implementing eNAM under the aegis of Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India.
Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation
GOBARdhan scheme 1.Galvanising Organic Bio-Agro Resource dhan or “GOBARdhan” scheme on 30th April 2018. 2. The scheme is aimed at keeping villages clean while increasing the income of farmers and cattle owners by promoting local entrepreneurs to convert cattle dung and other organic resources to biogas and organic manure.
Swajal 1. community demand driven, decentralized, single village, preferably solar powered, mini PWS (Piped Water Supply) programme for the 117 aspirational districts identified by NITI Aayog. 2. Gram Panchayats in partnership with rural communities and State sectoral agencies would be involved in the execution of the scheme and also operate and maintain the scheme. 3. The programme would also sustain ODF status.
