WHAT’S NEW FOR 2021/2022 The Paddock to Palate Wagyu Challenge will now move to a 400 day competition. This will mean an earlier delivery with 21 days in the starter pens. With the longer feed days, weight gain points will also change to 1 point per 16kg gained (1 point per 12kg gain in 2020/2021). Animals will be disqualified from the weight gain component of the competition for overweight entries. Walkthroughs will once again be available at approximately the halfway point of the competition. We thank Smithfield Cattle Company for hosting this each year. Carcasses will be judged on AUS-MEAT chiller assessment and Japanese digital camera technology. Only one side is chiller assessed and this score is applied to the body. BEEF TASTE OFF COMPETITION The RNA appreciates the assistance of QDAF Food Scientists for the conduct of the Beef Taste-Off component of the competition.
