golfers by creating a fun and user-friendly course. Madrona prides itself

DRAGON BOATS
PenMet Parks has a Dragon Boat Team: Gig Harbor Dragons!
A Dragon Boat is a long narrow boat that has 10 or 20 paddlers, a helms
person to guide the boat and a drummer in the bow to help the paddlers
keep a steady rhythm in their strokes. Dragon boats are the basis of the
team paddling sport of dragon boat racing, a watersport which has its
roots in an ancient folk ritual of contending villagers, which has been held
for over 2000 years throughout southern China. Dragon Boat Paddling
and Dragon Boat Racing has become a popular sport in most maritime
communities. The Gig Harbor Dragon Boat Team is a recreational and
competitive paddling team that provides members with instruction, moral
support, friendship, and fun, on and off the water. Practices prepare us
with technique and camaraderie to recreate and/or compete in Dragon
Boat racing while maintaining our core values.

Hello! My name Kelly Darling and I am the Special Events Coordinator for PenMet
Parks. This role allows me the opportunity to fulfill my passion of serving an
amazing community by providing fun and memorable experiences for all to enjoy.
KELLY DARLING Although our current special events are not what they typically are, it has been
exciting to generate new ones and create safe recreational opportunities for
SPECIAL EVENTS our constituents.
COORDINATOR In my free time I enjoy exploring the PNW by way of hiking and camping, trying
