Supported Transceiver Modules
For more information on the supported transceiver modules, see Transceiver Module Group (TMG) Compatibility Matrix.

Supported Software Features
GLC-TE
On the GLC-TE (1000BASE-T SFP transceiver module for Category 5 copper wire, RJ-45 connector) speed configuration works
regardless of autonegotiation.
For more information on GLC-TE, see the section Restrictions and Limitations on the Cisco NCS 560 Series Router in this release
notes.

L3VPN Support in Segment Routing IPv6
This feature enables Layer 3 Virtual Private Network in Segment Routing in an IPv6 network.

SPAN over Pseudo-Wire
Pseudo-wire traffic mirroring (known as PW-SPAN) is an extra functionality on the existing SPAN solutions. The existing SPAN
solutions are monitored on a destination interface or through a GRE tunnel or RSPAN. In PW-SPAN, the traffic mirroring destination
port is configured to be a pseudo-wire rather than a physical port. Here, the designated traffic on the source port is mirrored over the
pseudo-wire to a central location. Mirroring the designated traffic on the source port over the pseudo-wire to a central location allows
the centralization of expensive network traffic analysis tools.
For more information about this feature, see the Configuring Traffic Mirroring chapter in the Interface and Hardware Component
Configuration Guide for Cisco NCS 560 Series Routers.

SRv6: Basic Network Instructions
In an SR-MPLS enabled network, an MPLS label is used as the Segment Identifier (SID) and the source router chooses a path to the
destination and encodes the path in the packet header as a stack of labels.
For more information on this feature, see Segment Routing over IPv6 (SRv6) chapter of the Segment Routing Configuration Guide
for Cisco NCS 560 Series Routers.

                                                                                                                                      5
SRv6 Topology-Independent Loop-Free Alternate Node and Shared Risk Link Groups Protection
This feature introduces support for Topology-Independent Loop-Free Alternate (TI-LFA) node protection and Shared Risk Link
Groups (SRLG) protection using Segment Routing over IPv6 (SRv6) for the IS-IS protocol.
    • TI-LFA node protection functionality provides protection from node failures. The neighbor node is excluded during the post
      convergence backup path calculation.
    • TI-LFA SRLG protection functionality attempts to find the post-convergence backup path, which excludes the SRLGs of the
protected link. All local links that share any SRLG with the protecting link are excluded during the post convergence backup
      path calculation.

SRv6 IS-IS
Intermediate System-to-Intermediate System (IS-IS) protocol already supports segment-routing with MPLS data plane (SR-MPLS).
This feature enables extensions in ISIS to support segment-routing with IPv6 data plane (SRv6). The extensions include exchanging
a node’s SRv6 capabilities and node and adjacency segments as SRv6 SIDs.

SRv6 L3VPNv4 OAM
This feature enables to use the existing Internet Control Message Protocol version 6 (ICMPv6) mechanism for basic Operations,
Administration, and Maintenance (OAM) functionality to address the OAM requirements for SRv6 enabled L3VPN networks.

SRv6-OAM: Ping or Trace Using Network Instructions
Segment Routing over IPv6 data plane (SRv6) implementation adds a new type of routing extension header. Hence, the existing
ICMPv6 mechanisms including ping and traceroute can be used in the SRv6 network.
For more information on this feature, see Using Segment Routing OAM chapter of the Segment Routing Configuration Guide for
Cisco NCS 560 Series Routers.

SRv6-Services: VPNv4 - IPv4-L3VPN active/standby Redundancy
L3VPN VPNv4 active/standby redundancy using Port-Active Mode feature provides all-active per-port load balancing for multihoming.
The forwarding of traffic is determined based on a specific interface rather than per-flow across multiple provider edge routers. This
feature enables efficient load-balancing and provides faster convergence.
For more information on this feature, see Segment Routing over IPv6 (SRv6) chapter of the Segment Routing Configuration Guide
for Cisco NCS 560 Series Routers.

SRv6-Services: VPNv4 - IPv4-L3VPN—(End.DX4, End.DT4)
The SRv6-based IPv4 L3VPN feature enables deployment of IPv4 L3VPN over a SRv6 data plane. Traditionally done over an
MPLS-based system.
For more information on this feature, see Segment Routing over IPv6 (SRv6) chapter of the Segment Routing Configuration Guide
for Cisco NCS 560 Series Routers.

SRv6 Services: EVPN VPWS — IPv6 QoS Traffic-Class Marking
This feature allows the ingress EVPN VPWS PE to copy the CoS value from the top-most VLAN header to the traffic-class (TC)
field of the outer-most IPv6 header. This functionality enables prioritization of traffic in the IPv6 network.

6
To enable this feature, use the hw-module profile segment-routing srv6 encapsulation traffic-class propagate command. This
command requires you to reload the router for the configuration to take effect.

Support for IPv4 Unnumbered Interfaces on SR-TE Head-End and SR-PCE
An IPv4 interface is typically identified by its own unique IPv4 address; an unnumbered IPv4 interface is identified by the router ID
of the node where this interfaces resides and the local SNMP index assigned for this interface.
This feature allows IPv4 unnumbered interfaces to be part of an SR-TE head-end/SR-PCE topology database and to be used for path
computation.

Supported Hardware Features
There are no new hardware features introduced in this release.

Supported MIBs
For a list of supported MIBs, see the Cisco NCS5500 MIB Support List.

Restrictions and Limitations on the Cisco NCS 560 Series Router
   • The speed configuration works regardless of autonegotiation. If autonegotiation is enabled, it overwrites and works in ‘Forced
     mode’.
   • The show inventory and the show diagnostic commands do not display the fan serial number.
   • The hw-module profile MFIB statistics command is not supported.
   • Ensure that the IS-IS hello interval-timer value is not greater than six seconds, otherwise it may result in an IS-IS adjacency
     flap.
   • Do not use the Cisco N560-RSP4 and Cisco N560-RSP4-E route processors together in the same router.

Caveats
This section describes open and resolved severity 1 and 2 caveats and select severity 3 caveats:
   • The “Open Caveats” sections list open caveats that apply to the current release and may apply to previous releases. A caveat
that is open for a prior release and is still unresolved applies to all future releases until it is resolved.
   • The “Resolved Caveats” sections list caveats resolved in a specific release, but open in previous releases.

The bug IDs are sorted alphanumerically.

Note The Caveats section includes the bug ID and a short description of the bug. For details on the symptoms, conditions, and
workaround for a specific caveat you must use the Bug Search Tool.

Cisco IOS XR Software is installed and activated from modular packages, allowing specific features or software patches to be installed,
upgraded, or downgraded without affecting unrelated processes. Software packages can be upgraded or downgraded on all supported
card types, or on a single card (node).
The upgrade document (NCS560_Upgrade_MOP_7.0.2.pdf) is available along with the software images.
