52nd Annual Shotgun Blast General Information 1. Please leave your clubs on your assigned cart each night. The pro shop staff will clean them and have them ready to go for the following day’s round. Remove all valuables (phones, watches, billfolds, etc.) from the cart. 2. Please be courteous to other golfers and keep up with the group in front of you. A marshal will be on the course to keep the pace of play. We want ev- eryone to have an enjoyable round of golf, but would appreciate it if everyone does their best to play ready golf and keep things moving along quickly. 3. If your group is in agreement, music on the course is acceptable. Please respect other groups that may not want music by keeping the volume so that it can only be heard by those within your group. 4. ABSOLUTELY NO ONE IS ALLOWED ON THE COURSE AFTER DARK. This is for everyone’s safe- ty as the maintenance crew may be driving around caring for the golf course.
52nd Annual Shotgun Blast Invitational Tournament Rules of Play The tournament will consist of three rounds over three days. This year’s tournament is pre-flighted based on the Com- bined Handicap Index of each player as of June 1st. There are 8 flights of 9 teams in each flight. If two teams have the same Combined Handicap Index during flighting the team with the lower individual index will be placed in the flight with the lower team handicap. 1. The tournament will be played from the BLUE TEES. Participants 65 and older may elect to play from the WHITE TEES. Handicaps will automatically adjust for each golfer’s Course Handicap for competing from elected tees. If electing to play the WHITE TEES, please inform the golf shop ahead of play. The Member is re- sponsible for the team score cards including confirm- ing Course Handicap, Handicap Allocation, Dotting of Scorecard, tallying of the round totals, comparing with pairing group of score, singintures & turning in official scorecard to the Golf Shop. A round is not con- sidered complete until all aspects of the competition are completed. 2. All fescue areas will be played as Lateral Hazards. 3. Flight winners will be determined by the low three day team total. Ties to compete in the 12 team Derby will be decided by a chip off. The chip off will occur on Hole # 18 from a spot determined by the Shotgun Blast commit- tee. Teams involved in a chip off, both golfers will chip. The team with the individual with lowest chip distance will advance to the next hole. 4. The overall Shotgun Blast Champion will be deter- mined by a 4-hole Championship Derby. EIGHT flight winners and the next FOUR “wildcard” teams with the lowest three day team total will advance to the Derby. A chip off will be used to break ties for the four “wildcard” teams.
USGA RULES GOVERN PLAY except as stated herein: 1. All putts must be holed each day, except where it does not affect the team score. Putts inside the tape (18 inches) on the flagstick are good. 2. Rain delays or cancellation - if play is suspended tem- porarily for bad weather, a horn will sound three times. Please stop play immediately, mark your ball location and seek shelter. When play is resumed, it will be continued from where play was suspended. If the round cannot be resumed until the following day and 9 holes or more have been completed, the round shall be resumed from where it was discontinued. However, if at least 9 holes have not been completed by more than half the field, the round will be cancelled. 3. The Shotgun Blast Handicap committee reserves the right to adjust any participant’s handicap before or during the tournament. If for any reason the committee determines that the handicap is incorrect the committee / golf professional will notify the participant. *One mulligan is available per player per day* If you choose to hit a mulligan, you must play it. See the daily format sheet for further details. BEAT THE PRO EVENT (Thursday & Friday only) Golf Pro will hit one ball per team. Guest wagers must be paid in cash or charged to the host member. The entry fee is $20 per team and registration will be on Thursday morning. The lowest 24 paid teams from the Thursday scramble will qualify. The event will be a 4-man team event. Team 1 will be the lowest team handicap paired with the highest team handicap. Team 2 will be the next lowest team handicap with the next highest team handicap, and so on until all 12 teams have been paired. The two lowest handicap players on each team will tee off first. Then, the next two team players will play from the tee shot. Teams will alternate shot scramble through the comple- tion of each hole. On the next hole, the higher handicap will tee off alternating tee shots through the event. No Handicap strokes are given for this event. SHOTGUN BLAST CHAMPIONSHIP DERBY Sponsored by Garnett Investment Strategies Format: TEAM ALTERNATE SHOT (HANICAPPED) The eight flight winners plus the next four at-large “Wild Card” teams with the lowest team totals will qualify for the Shotgun Blast Championship Derby. If there is a tie for first place within a flight or to determine the at-large teams, a chip off will decide the team that will advance to the playoff. Both players will chip for each team. The team with the individual with lowest chip distance will advance to the next hole. For the Championship Derby, the team handicap will be deter- mined by combining the handicaps of the two team members and dividing by two. No team will receive more than 1 stroke per hole based upon handicap. The Shotgun Blast Championship will commence on Hole #3, fol- lowed by play on holes #16 thru Hole #18. Three teams will be eliminated on Holes #3, #16 and #17. Teams will choose which player will tee off on #3 and then alternate which member tees off on each additional hole. Three teams will battle on Hole #18 where the Shotgun Blast Cham- pionship team will be determined. In case of a tie on Holes #3, #16, #17, the teams will have a chip off to determine the team that will advance. All players will chip for each team. The team with the individual with lowest chip distance will advance to the next hole. In case of a tie on Hole #18, the tied low score teams will repeat play on #18 until there is a winner. In this case, the team member that did not originally tee off, hits the subsequent tee shot on hole #18 until a Champion is determined. 2:30 PM Parimutuel prior the Shotgun Blast Championship Derby 3:00 PM Garnett Investment Strategies Shotgun Blast Champion- ship Derby 5:30 PM Wells Fargo Red Jacket Awards 6:00 PM Dinner and Banquet at Classic’s 7:00 PM Entertainment “The Breakfast Club Band” 80s and 90s hits
