Peace of mind for Daddy and Mummy Expanding Childcare/ Infant Quality Early Childhood Development Care Capacity Setting up National Institute of Early Childhood Increased full-day places by over 50% in the last 5 Development (NIEC) to train early childhood professionals years to about 150,000 Early Childhood Development Centres Act ensures Increasing full-day places by 40,000 over the higher and more consistent quality pre-schools next 5 years KidSTART pilot programme to give low income 50 MOE kindergartens by 2023 children early access to health, learning and developmental support Making Childcare/ Infant Care Strengthening Support for Education More Affordable Bursaries for students in publicly funded Basic Subsidy of up to $600 for infant care and up to Post-Secondary Education Institutions (PSEIs) $300 for childcare for working mothers Significant education subsidies throughout all levels Families with non-working mothers are eligible for a of education Basic Subsidy of up to $150 per month Enhanced MOE Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) Families with working mothers, and with gross and School Meals Programme to provide more monthly household incomes of $7,500 and below, support for lower income families are eligible for an Additional Subsidy (lower income Expansion of after-school care in all primary schools families receive more) by 2020. Lower income families can receive total Kindergarten Fee Assistance Scheme: Lower and subsidies of up to $285 a month; revised income middle-income families may pay as little as $1 criteria to benefit more families a month at Anchor Operators or MOE kindergartens
