INTRODUCTION
The Box Learning Studio Pty Ltd (Co Reg: 2016/416575/07) is an online
architectural & draughting educational institution unlike any other, we are the first of
its kind. Even though this type of institution does not officially have a name yet we
would like to call it a learning studio.
We provide much needed up skilling, training and education to individuals young &
old, we do this by offering a variety of learning solutions within an online platform &
WHO IS THE BOX? physical studio environment. We also work hard to partner up with the corporate
sector & professional practice to provide our clients with a variety of opportunities.
We see our learners as clients rather than students and therefore we undertake to
provide the best service and value we can offer by utilizing the best resources
available & providing a great learning environment and excellent quality of
education to produce high quality candidates for institutions & companies.

Online learning is by far the most convenient and effective method of
teaching within a modern society and digital world. All of our students
agree that online learning is the best. Students learn at a faster pace,
within their own comfortable environment, work within groups and with

The Box uses blended learning as a preferred teaching method.
Blended learning allows learners to pick and choose how they want to
learn and affords them greater flexibility and convenience about when
they want to learn and how they learn it. By developing learning
strategies that incorporate a wide variety of learning activities, we can
more efficiently utilize learning resources and increase learning
absorption.

than qualifications, and this is where we come in, we bridge the gap
between industry and education by providing the skills and workplace
experience you need. Short courses add to your expertise and

skill level which can have a positive effect on your job application.BRIDGING PROGRAMME: ARCHITECTURAL STUDIES
The Architectural Technology Bridging Programme is a perfect way to increase your
skills and build a strong portfolio which you can use to apply for a national certificate
programme with The Box Learning Studio.
The architectural technology bridging programme is not as demanding as the
national certificate programme and is therefore perfect for someone who is planning
to take a gap year but would like to learn a skill.
BRIDGING The bridging programme is a combination of all the essential skills you will require
PROGRAMME to be effective within your national certificate studies, and the great thing about this
programme is that all the classes will be conducted by a facilitator with years of
architectural technology and education experience therefore all learning material is
geared towards industry, real working environment and strong portfolios.
WHAT IS A BRIDGING PROGRAMME?
A bridging programme is sequential learning activities, associated with curriculum
implementation, leading to the achievement of a particular qualification or part
qualification.

AWARD
On successful completion of the learning Programme you will receive a letter of
Recommendation from The Box Learning Studio that you can use to gain access
into the Certificate or Diploma Program.NATIONAL CERTIFICATE: ARCHITECTURAL DRAUGHTING
An architectural draughtsman or draughtsperson makes detailed technical drawings
or plans for buildings, electronics, infrastructure, sections, etc. Drafters use
computer software and manual sketches to convert the designs, plans, and layouts
of architects into a set of technical drawings. Drafters operate as the supporting
developers and sketch architectural designs and drawings from preliminary design
concepts.
Architectural Draughtsman’s drawings provide visual guidelines and show how to
construct a structure. Drawings include technical details and specify dimensions,
ARCHITECTURAL materials, and procedures. Drafters fill in technical details using drawings, rough
sketches, specifications, and calculations made by architects. Drafters use technical
DRAUGHTING handbooks, tables, calculators, and computers to complete their work.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
The Applicant who wishes to be accepted into the programme via RPL must
develop a Portfolio of work completed. A portfolio is a logically organised record of a
candidate's evidence of prior learning, and will serve as proof of the candidate's
expertise. It can also include evidence of knowledge or skills gained from a wide
variety of sources.

WORK EXPERIENCE
As an added feature to the program the student is required to complete 100 hours
of real working experience with a professional architectural practice.NATIONAL DIPLOMA: ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGY
The Architectural Technologist, also known as a building technologist, provides
technical building design services and solutions and is trained in architectural
technology, building, technical design and construction. Architectural technologists
apply the science of architecture and typically concentrate on the technology of the
building, design technology and construction.
The training of an Architectural Technologist concentrates on the ever-increasingly
complex technical aspects of a building project, but matters such as aesthetics,
ARCHITECTURAL space, light and circulation are also involved within the technical design, leading the
professional to assume decisions which are also design related.

*Candidates who have completed NQF 5 at another institution must submit a
portfolio for evaluation first to determine acceptance into this programme.
