  Northeastern Pennsylvania, Northeastern Educational
Intermediate Unit , and aieNEPA Arts in Education
The arts are an integral part of the development of creativity and critical thinking
skills in children and adolescents. This professional development series will offer
educators current research-based information on teaching and learning in order
to enhance their abilities to facilitate creativity in their students.

Educators will also discover specific strategies to enhance classroom curriculum.
Each session will include an informational lecture on research based strategies
in teaching creative and critical thinking, participation with professional artists,
attendance at a Broadway Theatre production, and a talk back session with
professional actors who performed in the show.

                                                                      ©Catherine Richmond-Cullen, Ed.D

A BRONX TALE, Broadway’s hit crowd-pleaser, takes you to the stoops of the Bronx
in the 1960s, where a young man is caught between the father he loves and the mob
                boss he’d love to be.
Bursting with high-energy dance numbers and original doo-wop tunes from Acad-
emy Award® and Tony® Award-winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast) and
Tony® Award-nominee Glenn Slater (Love Never Dies), A BRONX TALE is an unforget-
table story of loyalty and family. The New York Times hails A BRONX TALE as “A Critics’
Pick! The kind of tale that makes you laugh and cry.”

award-winning smash comedy! Called “A GUT-BUSTING HIT” (The New York Times) and
“THE FUNNIEST PLAY BROADWAY HAS EVER SEEN” (HuffPost), this classic murder

BUDDY – THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY tells the true story of Buddy’s meteoric rise
to fame, from the moment in 1957 when ‘That’ll be the day’ hit the airwaves until
his tragic death less than two years later on ‘The Day the Music Died.” The show
features over 20 of Buddy Holly’s greatest hits including ‘That’ll be the Day’, ‘Peggy
Sue’, ‘Oh, Boy’, ‘Not fade away’, ‘Rave on’, and ‘Raingin in my heart’, plus Ritchi Val-
ens’ ‘La Bamba’ and The Big Bopper’s ‘Chantilly Lace’.

spanned al all-too-brief period during the golden days of rock & roll, continues to
live on in BUDDY and will “send you out of the theatre on an unstoppable high.”
