P B C M 2021 HUNTER/JUMPER P SHOW RULES 1. PBCMP ‘BIG 25’ RULES GOVERN ALL SHOWS USEF rules will be guidelines for all PBCMP Hunter/Jumper Shows. 2. Back numbers must be worn at all times. Entering schooling ring or competing without a number or an incorrect number will result in loss of award and points. Class cards MUST have correct back number, riders full name, horse's name for points to be credited. 3. Riders may only move up 2 heights per horse rider combination, 2'3"-2'6", 2'6"-2'9" and 2'9"-3'. 4. No schooling equipment allowed while being judged. 5. A 60 second gate call WILL BE ENFORCED. Riders need to remain at ring after check-in. 6. In ALL jumping classes a rider with three (3) refusals will be excused from that class. 7. If rider has ever shown at 2' or higher, may only ride in Short Stirrups or Long Stirrups unjudged. 8. No ring equipment will be moved or changed after first rider completes course. Exception; broken, damaged or unsafe equipment. Re-ride without penalty allowed due to malfunction of the timer or other ring equipment. 9. Riders 18 & U need to be accompanied by an Adult or Trainer while schooling or competing. 10. No more than ten (10) horse/rider combinations in the schooling ring at any time. Ring steward may impose a time limit of 10 minutes for schooling. Flat work should be done outside of ring with jumps, when possible. Please school during the times designated for specific heights. 11. Do not approach judges. If you have a question, please contact the H/J Director or a Board member. 12. Rider/horse combination must show in all classes in a Division to be eligible for Grand and Reserve Daily or Year End. 13. All Divisions receive Year End Class and Division awards. All Jumper classes will receive Year End Class, exception; Blue Ribbon Jumpers (2’6”). No Year End awards for warm-up classes. P2021 B CSHOW BARREL M RULESP POSSE ‘BIG 25’ RULES GOVERN ALL SHOWS IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EVERY MEMBER TO KNOW AND UNDERSTAND THE SHOW RULES AND CHECK POINTS. YOU MAY ONLY APPROACH ANNOUNCER DURING DRAGS OR RING CHANGEOVER. NO RIDER OR REPRESENTATIVE ALLOWED IN ANNOUNCER'S BOOTH, VIOLATION OF THIS RULE WILL RESULT IN LOSS OF POINTS OR FORFEITURE OF JACKPOT MONIES FOR THE NIGHT. DISPUTES TO BE HANDLED AFTER SHOW. 1. Riders age to be determined as of January 1, 2021 and provide birth certificate or drivers license as proof of age. Late entries will be ac- cepted in the Show Office or Announcers Booth between events. Payment due at time of entry. The Barrel Committee* reserves the right to decline any membership, entry fee and/or retain any entry fees. 2. Points are Rider Responsibility. January-June point disputes will end 6/30/21. October-December disputes end December 15, 2021. Disputes must be in writing by email, not during shows. A rider may ride more than one horse for points but only 1 horse/ 1 rider per night. A second horse may be ridden for EXHIBITION ONLY at the end of each class. Rider must designate which horse will accrue points for the Point Show at time of sign up. To qualify for year end awards you must ride the horse that was ridden in the most shows throughout the year at the final show unless vet out and approved by Show Management. Riders must ride in final show to receive y/e award. Horses or ponies led through pattern will receive ribbon and/or trophy for day of show. 1 horse/2 riders, if both riders from same family, only one for Y/E points. 3. If less than 32 riders at a show classes must have 4 riders to qualify for daily award of gift certificate or trophy and ribbon. If class does not meet this requirement, daily awards will consist of ribbons only. Full show gift certificates $10, class gift certificates $5. Severe weather, poor arena conditions or lack of ridership may result in Show being cancelled at the discretion of the Board, Barrel Committee* and members. If all divisions finish three (3) events, it will be considered a complete show with no monies returned. If all divisions finish two (2) events, the choice of either double points only at next scheduled show or a make-up show rescheduled will be at the discretion of the Board, Barrel Committee* and members. Points will be doubled for only 3rd division (Texas Barrels) and only for riders effected by the cancellation. Make- up date would be decided at next Board Meeting or Barrel Committee* meeting. 4. Proper show attire: Helmets are mandatory for all riders under 16 years of age both in the ring and while on horses outside of ring. Shirts without sleeves must have collars. Collarless shirts must have sleeves. (No muscle cuts, raglan, or or cap sleeves.) NO MIDRIFFS OR HALTER-TOPS. Shirts must be buttoned and be long enough to be tucked into pants. Full length pants, boots or approved footwear must be worn. Questionable clothing is a cause for immediate disqualification or NO TIME, at the discretion of the Barrel Committee* IF YOU QUESTION IF APPAREL IS APPROPRIATE - ASK before riding. 5. If a horse is unable to continue due to injury or illness, the rider will be charged $7.00 for each event completed. If having ridden 3 events before injury or illness, no monies will be refunded, as 3 events are considered a complete show. 6. The Barrel Committee* may disqualify any horse/rider for cruelty or safety issues. All monies will be forfeited. Owners and Riders must ALWAYS maintain their animals in a manner that is safe to spectators and other exhibitors. 7. Riders must be ready to enter ring when announced. Riders have the choice to start their ride in the arena or from the alleyway. 8. Riders will have a 60 second gate call to get their horse in the arena. The gate call is from the time riders' name is announced to the time they go through the gate. If a rider cannot get through the gate in the 60 second time limit, rider will receive a NO TIME and next rider will be called. NO EXCEPTIONS. 9. Re-rides will be allowed due to malfunction of the timer or other PBCMP equipment. No re-rides for missed patterns or broken tack. 10. No rider shall be tied, buckled or fastened in the saddle by any manner or means except by Velcro. Rubber bands may be attached to the bottom of boots and stirrups area. Stirrups must be proper length for rider. 11. No dismounting of horses in any fashion once you've crossed the timer and still in arena. Unless event specifically calls for a dismount, you will be disqualified. 12. A 5 second penalty per barrel or pole knocked over. Hairpin barrel knocked over or horse out of bounds result in NO TIME. Any deviation of the pattern or no forward motion results in NO TIME. If Barrel Committee determines rider intentionally knocks over apparatus, points will be lost for the night. Once a pattern is set and division started, pattern cannot be altered. Only after a knock down can a barrel or pole be realigned. 13. Year End Awards presented to top 6 riders in all divisions. In the event of a tie, a run-off will be held at the end of the night of the last show. An event will be drawn by the Barrel Director or Committee for the run-off event. The results of that run-off will determine the winner. To be eligible for Year End awards a rider must have ridden in 6 of 9 shows and in 3 classes within their eligible division per show. Award choices are those presented by PBCMP. Unless show is designated a Saddle Series, awarding of saddles will be determined by Board at year end based on number of entries. There will be no upgrades to any year end award. Rider may choose to opt down an award but there is no opting up. If you choose no award or award choices are not received by deadline, an award of a gift certificate of our choice will be given. Pony and Lead Line not eligible for saddle, buckle award. *NOTE* Point show riders or a representative MUST complete 6 hours of volunteer time at the barrel show only. Rider may choose to pay $10/hr rather than volunteer any or all hours, either to be by completed by October 15, 2021. 14. JACKPOT RULES: Cloverleaf format will always be 4-D, Payouts according to NBHA sample – 70/30. Exhibitions will run from 4:00-5:00 pm. Jackpot starts at 5:30 pm, Show to follow. Late entries will be taken until first rider leaves gate, IF POSSIBLE. May ride Jackpot for $10.00 day pass but will receive no points for Saddle Series. 15. Everyone on grounds agrees to abide by the rules and decisions of the Barrel Committee*. Any act of discourtesy, disobedience, swearing, obscenity, arguing with officials, judges, spectators, any act of indecency, by owners, riders, managers, guests, parents or grooms, will cause disqualification and expulsion from grounds. 16. NOTE: ALL RULES SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT THE DISCRETION OF THE BARREL COMMITTEE* OR PBCMP BOARD. *Barrel Committee comprised of PBCMP officers, board members, Barrel membership, Barrel Director or designated person(s) present at shows. Membership in Palm Beach County Mounted Posse, Inc. is a privilege, not a right. Behavior which is damaging to our Club or its membership will NOT be tolerated.
