Hello.
My name is Tom and I am a designer based in
London. I am passionate about industrial design
and I aspire to make meaningful products to make
the present day even more interesting. I enjoy
hands on tasks and making things, learning what
works and what doesn’t.

Landscaping
Weekend warriors are individuals that work hard
during the week and play hard at the weekends,
participating in activities such as extreme sports.
Through research, I studied associated aspects
                               and characteristics.

Ideation
Using an iterative process, I developed my
design ideas through sketches and foam
and clay models, exploring the theme of
                              aerodynamics.

Final concept
My final design reflects the tough and fearless
attitude of a weekend warrior. The chosen
materials make it impact and weather resistant,
fitting comfortably into a rugged and outdoor
                                         lifestyle.

Market: Young men

                                 10
Analysis
My process began by exploring 30 different
ideas, each inspired and supported by a range
of insights. I selected the concepts with potential,
refining them using sketches and testing
                                        prototypes.

                                                 11
Ideation
Following my initial concepts and prototypes, I
further explored men’s hair styling, developing
designs and foam models that demonstrated a
bond between the product and the user’s hand.

                                              12
Final concept
My final design ‘Flow’ redefines the common hair
dryer by eliminating the handle, making it lighter
and easier to hold. The removable power cable
makes storage effortless and more presentable.
