   Brief on the Institute of IED Management, CRPF, Pune
      In the wake of increasing incidents of explosive devices of
improvised nature (IED) in LWE areas, J&K Theatre & North East in
India, the Institution of IED Management Inaugurated on 23rd
February, 2012 on Adhoc basis. The Institute was Inaugurated by
the then Hon’ble Union Home Minister Sh. P. Chidambaram in
presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra Sh. Prithviraj
Chavan, Sh. K. Vijay Kumar, DG, CRPF and Dr. P.M. Nair, ADG
(Ops.) Since its inception, the Institute is imparting Training to all
ranks of CRPF, other sister organizations and State Police Forces
and Trainees of friendly foreign countries on counter IED. IIM has                 IED MODEL ROOM              IED MODEL ROOM
been focusing on various C-IED courses to disseminate and spread
the flow of knowledge and skill to the lowest level in the field area
thereby reducing the loss of men and material to minimal. All the
premier national Investigating Agencies look upto IIM for its
assistance in different IED related circumstances. The team of the
Institute often visits the sites of IED incidents for PBA (Post Blast
Analysis) and prepares case studies and analysis for futuristic
implication of tactics while countering IED menace. Till date IIM has
trained more than 5,000 personnel in various C-IED courses at IIM
Pune & sensitised more than 46,000 soldiers on ground. Keeping in
view, the Importance of Training in counter IED and requirement of
the same in future, the Institution has been sanctioned by GOI with             INDOOR CLASS ROOM              TRAINNING AREA
a strength of 42 posts vide MHA letter No. II.27012/62/2015-PF-III
dated 01.11.2019.

Achievements:-
FICCI Smart Policing Award – 2019 & 2017 (Initiative: Counter
IED Menace, Category: Training & Capacity Building).

MoU with GFSU: IIM Pune established collaboration with Gujarat
Forensic Sciences University on 27th March’ 2018 to identify new
areas of application of Forensic Science in bombing Investigation
and also building capacity of faculty & scholars of IED through tools
available for analysis.

IED Awareness Guide – 2018, 2017 - An exclusive compilation of
IED related incidents.

IDMS (Improvised Explosive Device – Data Management System):
In order to prepare data bank of IED/Bomb blast or recovery
incident in AOR of CRPF deployment, IIM Pune in affiliation with
DRDO, Pune has brought up a software called IDMS – IED Data
Management System accessible through SELO (Intranet of CRPF)
across India by CRPF establishments.

NEWS FROM VARIOUS TRAINING INSTITUTIONS
       ISA, Mount Abu (Raj)

                        Re-Union Seminar of 25th (1994) Batch DAGO,s was organised
                   at ISA, Mount Abu w.e.f. 13 to 14 December, 2019. Total 61 Officers
                   attended this Seminar which Included DIsG -04, Comdts.,- 44, Ex-
                   CRPF Officers -13, from different Theatres. Sh. K.S. Bhandari,
                   Director/IG, ISA, Mount Abu, graced the inauguration and
                   Valediction of the Seminar. Besides faculty of ISA, led by Director
                   Academy, various eminent Speakers like, Sh. Vikrant Singh Tomar,
                   Director, UMS India, delivered talks on Important Issues/Topics. A
                   discussion on subject “Constitution and Role of CRPF - A Fine
                   Balancing Required” was also discussed in detail and views
                   recorded.

        RTC, Jodhpur (Raj.)

                       Passing out parade of 09th Batch was organized on 18/11/2019
                   at the premises of the newly developed Training center at RTC,
                   CRPF, Jodhpur. In which a total of 104 new constables of the Central
                   Reserve Police Force took an oath to uphold the unity and Integrity
                   of the Country by devoting their duties to the Indian Constitution.
                   The Chief Guest, Sh. Mahendra Kumar, DIG/ Principal, RTC, CRPF,
                   Jodhpur Inspected the Parade and took salute. In this Ceremony,
                   along with the Chief Guest, the Officers of the Institute, the
                   Subordinate Officers, all the personnel and their families attended.

       CTC, Gwalior (M.P)

                       Sh. Javed Akhtar, IPS, SDG visited CTC Gwalior for Inspection of
                   the Institute for Union Home Minister Trophy Sh. Mool Chand
                   Panwar, Presenting a Bouquet along with Sh. Manoj Kumar Sharma,
                   Commandant, CTC, CRPF, Gwalior.

       RTC, Avadi (T.N)

                       Passing out cum Attestation Parade of 407 Recruits of UP Police
                   (Civil) Batch No. 427 was conducted on 16/12/2019. Sh. Praveen
                   Chandrakant Ghag, DIG/Principal, RTC, Avadi took salute of the
                   Parade.

                            INNOVATION IN TRAINING

                                  ISA, MOUNT ABU

(1) Introduced online feedback system, in which all the participant Officers in
   various Courses submit the feed back/evaluation of the Guest
   Speaker/Faculty online, resulting in minimum paper consumption.
(2) Introductory short documentary is being prepared to show the overview
    of Training in ISA to all Course participants during Course opening.
(3) NKN Network speed of 100 mbps is available for Trainee/Participant
    Officer for open source Materials.
(4) In year 2019 ISA was certified Quality Management System Standard ISO-
   9001/2015 on Quality Training to various Level of Gazetted Officers of
   CRPF/CAPFs/State Police on all Internal Security/Professional Matters.

                                 CIATS, CHITTOOR

(1) Yoga Practice for all personnel ofI this Institution. Once in a week 48
   “Surya Namaskar” for 25 Minutes.
(2) Figure “8” exercise practice daily.

                                  RTC, PERINGOME

(1) Visit to places of historical and tourist importance to give exposure to
   Trainees about cultural heritage and other aspects of nearby areas.
(2) Practice of bend running. (Adopted from naxal Training video).
(3) Complete fitness to all personnel - theme of year 2020 is the main motive
   to build healthy environment.
