Degree Planning Resources
myPurdue Plan: The myPurdue Plan worksheet is a tool to track your progress
to degree completion. All degree requirements, minor requirements, and any
other requirements to degree completion will be listed here. Use this in
conjunction with your Plan of Study (8 semester layout).

In the CIT department we focus on the block specific to your major and the “Other
Departmental Requirements.” By following the plan of study you will complete the
“University Core” and "Statewide General Transfer Core Curriculum." You may
see different courses mapping to these requirements and that is ok!

Watch this short video to see how to access the program and review helpful
information about this important tool.

Selecting a Non-Computing Minor
When, How, and is it necessary?
Some CIT plans of study require adding a minor while others provide the option of adding non
computing minors or certificates to fulfill Interdisciplinary (I/D) Selectives. Each plan of study has a
different number of required I/D credits. Students may choose any non-computing minor or certificate to
fulfill the requirements. Many minors require courses that are also required on CIT plans of study,
which allow for students to complete minors while also completing major degree requirements.

Selecting your minor early will allow you the flexibility to fulfill major and minor requirements
simultaneously.

Majors with Required Minor/Certificate (Interdisciplinary Credits: 15)
Computer and Information Technology (CNIT)
Systems Analysis and Design (SAAD)

Majors with Optional Minor/Certificate
Cybersecurity (CSEC) (Interdisciplinary Credits: 6)
Network Engineering Technology (NENT) (Interdisciplinary Credits: 9)

Minor and Certificate requirements are listed here: http://catalog.purdue.edu

Certificates - https://catalog.purdue.edu/content.php?catoid=13&navoid=16362

Computing minors that do not count towards your plan of study include, but are not limited to, Computer
Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Computer Graphics (excluding Product Lifecycle).
Please consult your advisor with questions.

Discuss with your advisor so the minor may be added to your record.
