Greetings, Welcome to the November edition of our Town newsletter. Our Fall Festival at the Brunswick Riverwalk was a huge success this year. We saw over 1,000 attendees before noon. Thank you to all of our awesome vendors and a big thank you to our community members. This is your town and I'm thrilled to see how active you are in the community. In September, the Board of Commissioners approved the much anticipated Vision 2030 Plan and I'm excited to announce that construction work began on our new floating boat dock and kayak launch in October. These are just two efforts toward turning our Vision 2030 Plan into reality. Town Hall will be closed on November 11th in observance of Veterans Day and also on November 25th and 26th for the Thanksgiving holiday. I would like to wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving. Take time to enjoy your family, friends and neighbors. There are so many things that I'm thankful for this year, but at the very top of this list is our town and the people that make it so great. Take care of each other! Construction of a new floating dock at the Brunswick Riverwalk Park began in October. The dock is part of the first phase on upgrades to the existing park and is
taking place as part of the Town's Vision 2030 Plan. The first phase of construction includes the floating dock and a new canoe/ kayak launch. The upgrades are funded through a $190,449 Department of Environmental Quality/ Division of Coastal Management grant and a $63,482 contribution from the Town. Earlier this year, Belville and the NC Department of Transportation held a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate their joint effort to enable the expansion of the Brunswick Riverwalk Park. The accord extends the park’s boardwalk more than a half-mile to the north of the park to connect with future development and a new downtown Belville off Old River Road. “We’re excited to get underway with our work to turn our Vision 2030 Plan into reality,” said Mayor Mike Allen. “We thank DEQ and the Division of Coastal Management for aiding our efforts to begin fulfilling our dream of a new downtown Belville.” Due to construction, the existing boat ramp will be closed until further notice.
