WOOD DALE PARK DISTRICT - SUMMER 2021 - Registration Begins April 26 wdparks.org
The Beach Waterpark is opening on Saturday, May 29!
All are welcome to visit The Beach Waterpark. We were closed in 2020, but we are back this year to provide pool time for the
whole family, although it may look a bit different than in the past. Modifications to our operation have been made to comply
with state guidelines, so please read on to learn more.

1. The Beach Waterpark facility will be divided into two separate areas:
Area 1: The main lap pool and the slide
Area 2: The zero-depth pool and the spray playground

2. Visits to the pool will be limited to two hours and reservations will be required. Each person wil be required to review COVID-19
symptoms on a sign at the entrance and respond to questions. A temperature reading device will be used on every patron and
   staff entering the facility.

3. The only way to visit the pool is by paying a daily admission fee of $7 when making the reservation online through the Park
District’s registration system. Mastercard and Visa are accepted. There will be no annual pass or discount coupon option. No cash
will be accepted on site. Once you make a reservation for one of the areas you may not cross over into the other area during the
time you are at The Beach.

4. Every person needs a reservation. Children under the age of two are not required to pay an admission fee but they do require a
reservation. The maximum in each area per time slot is 50. If a person makes a back-to-back reservation, they will have to gather
their items, exit the facility and re-enter with the next group.

5. For safety purposes, areas within the pool will be closed for the season including the hot tub/spa, volleyball and sand play area,
concession stand, vending machines and table-seating area. No food or beverages, other than water will be allowed in the facility

AQUATICS

Youth Lessons
The youth swim lessons program is designed for children to learn swimming techniques and water safety skills based on their skill level.
The levels will be determined the first day, as children will have the opportunity to demonstrate their swim ability and will be assessed
for their skill level placement. There are six levels and each level introduces a challenging variety of skills and activities for the swimmer.
The skills in each level must be reached in order to move onto the next level. Children will learn various aquatic survival and safety skills
in order to become a safe, confident swimmer. Each lesson is 45 minutes in length with additional five minutes of supervised free swim.
Missed lessons cannot be made up. A certificate is issued at the successful completion of each skill level. Children MUST be the stated
age required.

WOOD DALE PARK DISTRICT - SUMMER 2021 - Registration Begins April 26 wdparks.org
Wood Dale Addison Sharks Swim Team
The Swim Team is open to any age group through high school. If you can swim one lap of the pool you can join! The Swim Team
meets for eight weeks and all swimmers will participate in virtual meets. Practice workouts include instruction in stroke technique
and flip turns. The Wood Dale/Addison Park District Swim Team complies with the DuPage Swim and Dive Conference regulations.
Registration is available online or at the Recreation Complex at 111 E. Foster in Wood Dale. Refunds will not be given after June 14.

Practices will be Monday through Friday from 8:00 am – 11:00 am, with different time slots for each age group.

State guidelines for COVID-19 will be followed:
• Face coverings will be required when not in the pool
• Only four swimmers will be allowed per lane
• Social distancing will be strictly enforced in and out of the pool
• No more than 50 swimmers will be allowed in the pool at any one time.
• All dual meets will be virtual and will be done in the form of a time trial. There will be no visiting teams.
• Spectators will not be allowed at practices or meets.
• There will be no food allowed in the facility. Only water is allowed and each swimmer is responsible for their own water bottle.

Trial Week – June 7-11
Trial week allows swimmers to check out the swim team and determine if it something in which they would like to participate.
Swimmers must be registered to be able to participate in Trial Week. A time trial (virtual meet) will be held at the Friday practice, June
4. Refunds will be given no later than Wednesday, June 14.

Parents’ Club
The Wood Dale Addison Sharks Parents’ Club is an integral part of the Swim Team. The Parents’ Club fee allows the club to provide
awards, and other “perks” for the swimmers. Since there will not be a team swimsuit this year, and COVID-19 limitations will not allow
some of our annual events, the Parent fee has been reduced to $25 per child from $50 for the 2021 season. In the past, the fee has
been paid separately from the program fee. This year they are combined.

The Beach Facility Surcharge
In the 2020 season each member of the team was going to be required to purchase an annual pass for The Beach at the cost of $49.
This fee helps cover the cost of lifeguards and other staff, specifically used during swim team practices and virtual timing meets.
Annual passes are not being sold this year, but a surcharge will be added to each registration in the amount of $42.
