Raumati Beach is a full primary school, located on the beautiful Kapiti Coast.
The school operates a range of composite classes from New Entrants to Year
Eight. The average peak school roll is around 690 pupils. As well as the main
school, we also have on site a Satellite class from Mahinawa and a
Technology Centre which caters for pupils throughout the Kapiti area.

The school operates an enrolment zone and is classified by the MOE as being
Decile 9.

The school is split into three teams, whose names are derived from the
school’s learning journey as outlined below. The school vision was developed
in 2010 and 2011 with students, staff and the community.

Raumati Beach Students take part in a wide range of extra-curricular activities
from cultural performances to leadership programmes.

More specific information about Raumati Beach can be found by visiting

A drop of water (kopata wai) flows from the Maungakotukutuku Valley over the
land through the township of Paraparaumu along the Wharemauku Stream.
As it moves along the stream it gathers knowledge and grows on its journey to
the sea (Te Moana).

Te Moana – The Sea
The drop of water (kopata wai) leaves the shelter of the Wharemauku Stream
and now becomes part of the sea. It is pushed and pulled towards Kapiti
Island in the distance and is continuing to gather knowledge on its journey to
the Island.

Kapiti – Join
As the (kopata wai) drop of water moves towards Kapiti Island it is pulled into
the sky by the sun (ra) and taken to the peak of the island where it is dropped.
From the peak of the island (Tuteremoana) the water drop (kopata wai) is able
to look out across the Tasman Sea and imagine the wonders of the world and
learns that its journey into the world is just beginning and that it will continue to
grow and gather knowledge and it ventures into the world beyond the Kapiti
Coast.
