It has been wonderful to open our doors to visitors once again and
Conversations to see how enjoyable and illuminating our exhibitions have been for
those who’ve come inside. Our pandemic precautions include the
most stringent measures, following to the letter the advice of experts
who have counseled us about safety for visitors and staff. So, if you
haven’t yet returned to our galleries, I invite you most heartily.

talks with celebrated scholars and writers, including Akhil Reed Amar, public programs are every bit as interesting, insightful, and thought-provoking as
they were in our Robert H. Smith Auditorium. I thank Dale Gregory, Vice President
Carl Bernstein, and Maggie Haberman. for Public Programs, and her team for their outstanding work.
In addition, we are launching a rich library of new, streaming program Our Bernard and Irene Schwartz Distinguished Speakers Series includes many of our
recordings produced exclusively for the New-York Historical Society old friends: for example Harold Holzer, interviewed by our Presidential Historian
Douglas Brinkley, on his new book, The Presidents vs. the Press. We are also very
featuring speakers such as former U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert M. pleased to announce a rich library of brand-new program recordings produced
