 CHILDREN’S MOMENT (11:00)

 INTERCESSORY PRAYER Ukrainian Alleluia Courtney
Because of its geographical position and rich natural resources, Ukraine has a history of foreign invasion, occupation,
and oppression. It is estimated that more than 25 million Ukrainians were killed during the 20th century due to
starvation, war, and the deadliest nuclear accident in history. Christians in particular suffered discrimination, arrest,
torture, and even death for the sake of their beliefs. This anthem was borne out of the knowledge of these
circumstances. It is a musical portrayal of a quiet voice of faith, praise, and hope, in the midst of suffering and tragedy.

THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on
earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we
forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

We are grateful to have Bill Cox with us today as our guest narrator. Bill is the executive director of
Concoxions, a unique ministry organization he founded in 1979. A speaker, chalk artist, actor, musician,
songwriter, author, and playwright; Bill has written, produced, and presented numerous productions that
have been featured in hundreds of churches as well as regional, state, and national conferences across the
country. For 35 years, part of Bill’s work with Concoxions included producing and directing the popular
Seesalt (summer) and Chillipepper (winter) student conferences. Bill also wrote, produced, directed, and
performed in “A Peace of ‘72” that received wide-spread acclaim during its 90-show run at Fantasy Harbour
in Myrtle Beach. That led to the establishment in 2001 of Concoxions Cornerstone Theatre in Lyman, SC
which for eight years served as the home of additional original Concoxions productions including “The
Journey” and “Cornerstone Christmas Dinner Theatre.” Spartanburg, SC is home for Bill and his wife Kathy,
who is also a full-time part of Concoxions. They have two sons, a daughter, six grandsons, and one
                                                granddaughter.

Arapahoe, Camp Rockfish in Parkton, and Camp Chestnut Ridge in Efland. Pastor Laura Johnson will serve
as the Camp Chaplain at Camp Chestnut Ridge the week of July 2, 2023 and would love AUMC children to
join her and her family. Registration for new families opens on the Chestnut Ridge website

Serve
Toiletries for Christian Life Home: For the next three weeks, we will be collecting the following items at
the mission table in Crossroads: Toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, dental floss, toothpaste and
toothbrushes, deodorant, bar soap and hand soap. For more info please contact Jeanne Whittlesey at
jbwhittlesey@att.net or Kara Matthews at kara.matthews@apexumc.org.

Coats, Hats, Gloves, and Scarves ONLY for Note in the Pocket: We are now accepting coats, hats,
gloves and scarves for our Light of the World Festival Mission Project for Note in the Pocket. The bins are
located inside Crossroads and outside in the Crossroads circle through December 18th.

Sponsorship for Ukrainian Families: Considering hosting a Ukrainian refugee family in harm’s way?
Uniting for Ukraine (U4U) sponsorship allows Ukrainian citizens to travel to the United States under
humanitarian parole immigration status, provided that they have a US sponsor host family. U4U
beneficiaries qualify for Medicaid, Food Stamps, education and career path planning and other
resettlement support activities. Please contact Brian Snyder brian.d.snyder@outlook.com or Kara Matthews
for more information or to speak to one of our families.

Feed the Kids: FTK provides weekend food bags to food-insecure students in Western Wake County.
Current needs: any individually packaged foods, but especially breakfast items (cereal/oatmeal/grits) and
individual fruit packs. Place items in the Feed the Kids bin in the Crossroads Circle. Thank you!

Western Wake Crisis Ministry: WWCM currently needs peanut butter, jelly/jam in plastic jars, bags of
rice, individual drink mixes and personal hygiene items especially deodorant. Place your donations in the
WWCM marked carts found outside in the Crossroads traffic circle. Thank you so much for your support!

Give
Ukraine Relief: Your United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) donations have raised $13,137. You
can continue your support by making a check out to AUMC and writing “Ukraine” in the memo line of your
check or give online and select Ukraine-UMCOR from the drop-down menu.

Giving to Apex UMC: Every time we give to AUMC, we are making a way for others to experience the
love of God that we have experienced. You can set up a recurring gift online, place your offering in the
offertory plate during worship, or you can text the dollar amount to 84321 and choose Apex UMC as
recipient. Questions? Contact our finance office at finance@apexumc.org.
