Sonata in C major for Violin and Piano Reynaldo Hahn (1874-1947) I. Sans lenteur, tendrement II. Veloce III. Modéré Hsiao-Ling Lin, piano About the performer Originally from the Midwest, violinist Jonathon Winter has performed as a solo, chamber, and ensemble musician across the United States and Europe. Recently, Jonathon has been a soloist with the Oneota Valley Orchestra and the Eurasia Chamber Orchestra of Berlin, and has performed in masterclasses with Kathrin ten Hagen, Elmar Oliveira, Henning Kraggerud, Judith Ingolfsson, and Zakhar Bron. He has been a member of the Palm Beach Symphony, AIMS in Graz Festival Orchestra, Round Top Festival Orchestra, and the National Repertory Orchestra. Equally comfortable as a studio musician, Jonathon can be heard on Latin Grammy-nominated album “An Open Book” with Jorge Mejia for Sony Music, has recorded for jazz singer Patti Austin, and has performed with major artists such as Jeff Beal, Kristin Chenoweth, and John Williams, among others. Jonathon is an advocate for contemporary music, having worked with composers Libby Larsen, Dana Kaufman, Mary Ellen Childs, and Martin Bresnik, and has premiered several new works with various ensembles across the United States and Europe. Based in Boulder, Colorado, Jonathon began his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in the Fall of 2021 as the teaching assistant to Charles Wetherbee. He also joined the faculty of Boulder Suzuki Strings, is a chamber music coach for the Greater Boulder Youth Orchestras, and performs regularly with the Boulder Philharmonic. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Minnesota, Master of Music degree from the University of Miami and a Performers’ Certificate from the Lynn Conservatory.
