SUNDAY 4 JULY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WELCOME & NOTICES Tom Roberts CALL TO WORSHIP To God Be The Glory CONFESSION PRAYER OF PRAISE O The Deep Deep Love Of Jesus PASTORAL PRAYER Psalm 114 SERMON Lamentations 5 | Reuben Hunter I Will Wait For You THE LORD’S SUPPER He Will Hold Me Fast BENEDICTION" 3
CALL TO WORSHIP Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. Scripture Reference: Psalm 100:3-4 TO GOD BY THE GLORY To God be the glory, great things He has done; So loved He the world that He gave us His Son, Who yielded His life an atonement for sin, And opened the life gate that all may go in. Chorus Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the earth hear His voice! Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the people rejoice! O come to the Father, through Jesus the Son, And give Him the glory, great things He has done. O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood, To every believer the promise of God; The vilest offender who truly believes, That moment from Jesus a pardon receives. Chorus Great things He has taught us, great things He has done, And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son; But purer, and higher, and greater will be Our wonder, our worship, when Jesus we see. Chorus Words by Fanny Crosby Music by Nathan Fellingham © 2009 Thankyou Music CCLI no: 1986373 4
CONFESSION Lord, you come to us, but we do not recognise you; you call, but we do not follow; you command, but we do not obey, you bless us, but we do not thank you. Please forgive and help us. Lord, you accept us, but we do not accept others; you forgive us, but we do not forgive those who wrong us; you love us, but we do not love our neighbours. Please forgive and help us. Lord, you showed us how to carry out your mission, but we still insist on our own; you identified yourself with outcasts, the needy, and the poor, but we do not bother to find out what is happening to them; you suffered and died for the sake of all, but we do not give up our comfortable lives. Please forgive and help us, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen. SCRIPTURAL ASSURANCE OF PARDON The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. PSALM 114 1 When Israel went out from Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language, 2 Judah became his sanctuary, Israel his dominion. 3 The sea looked and fled; Jordan turned back. 4 The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs. 5 What ails you, O sea, that you flee? O Jordan, that you turn back? 6 O mountains, that you skip like rams? O hills, like lambs? 7 Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob, 8 who turns the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a spring of water. PASTORAL PRAYER LAMENTATIONS 5 1 Remember, O Lord, what has befallen us; look, and see our disgrace! 2 Our inheritance has been turned over to strangers, our homes to foreigners. 3 We have become orphans, fatherless; our mothers are like widows. 4 We must pay for the water we drink; the wood we get must be bought. 5 Our pursuers are at our necks; we are weary; we are given no rest. 6 We have given the hand to Egypt, and to Assyria, to get bread enough. 7 Our fathers sinned, and are no more; and we bear their iniquities. 7
8 Slaves rule over us; there is none to deliver us from their hand. 9 We get our bread at the peril of our lives, because of the sword in the wilderness. 10 Our skin is hot as an oven with the burning heat of famine. 11 Women are raped in Zion, young women in the towns of Judah. 12 Princes are hung up by their hands; no respect is shown to the elders. 13 Young men are compelled to grind at the mill, and boys stagger under loads of wood. 14 The old men have left the city gate, the young men their music. 15 The joy of our hearts has ceased; our dancing has been turned to mourning. 16 The crown has fallen from our head; woe to us, for we have sinned! 17 For this our heart has become sick, for these things our eyes have grown dim, 18 for Mount Zion which lies desolate; jackals prowl over it. 19 But you, O Lord, reign for ever; your throne endures to all generations. 20 Why do you forget us for ever, why do you forsake us for so many days? 21 Restore us to yourself, O Lord, that we may be restored! Renew our days as of old— 22 unless you have utterly rejected us, and you remain exceedingly angry with us. 8

HE WILL HOLD ME FAST When I fear my faith will fail, Chorus Christ will hold me fast; When the tempter would prevail, For my life He bled and died, He will hold me fast. Christ will hold me fast; I could never keep my hold Justice has been satisfied; Through life’s fearful path; He will hold me fast. For my love is often cold; Raised with Him to endless life, He must hold me fast. He will hold me fast Till our faith is turned to sight, Chorus When He comes at last! He will hold me fast, He will hold me fast; Chorus For my Saviour loves me so, He will hold me fast. Those He saves are His delight, Christ will hold me fast; Precious in his holy sight, He will hold me fast. He’ll not let my soul be lost; His promises shall last; Bought by Him at such a cost, He will hold me fast.
