COMMUNITY ADVOCATE
Family Counseling Service of the Finger Lakes, Inc. is looking for two regu-
lar, full – time, Community Advocates, to join our team effective immediately!
One Community Advocate will be located in Palmyra-Macedon Central School
District and the other Community advocate will be located in the Canandaigua
City School District. These positions will provide direct services to victims of
crime and model trauma informed service provision within that setting. If placed
in a school, additional training around social emotional well-being will be provid-
ed. Duties include providing direct services in school, community, and telehealth
settings while supporting the family and student. The candidate will develop and
maintain networks with community resources to expand services to victims and
provides initial screening to determine client’s eligibility into advocacy programs
and keeps accurate statistical data and submits in a timely manner; recording
time, date service provided with a session note to summarize the service. Other
duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, criminal justice or
related field preferred
One year of experience in advocacy, social emotional learning, and/or
working within a school setting. Additional experience in working with
victims of domestic violence, sexual abuse, or with LGBTQ community
and other underserved populations a plus.

and is looking for a full time, 35 hours per week, Mental Health Therapist – In
House, to join our team effective immediately! A licensed master level clinician
trained in trauma-informed care and practices will provide professional mental
health services to individuals, children, couples and families throughout our four
counties under several programs and initiatives. Services are specialized to be
healing centered to promote resiliency for individuals that have experienced
trauma, abuse and/or loss. General counseling services are provided for acute
and ongoing mental health concerns and substance abuse, grief/loss, relational
concerns and fear of change in employment or other life event. In house thera-
peutic services are provided at one of our several locations throughout Wayne,
Ontario, Yates and Seneca Counties.
Qualifications:
Master’s in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or related field and
NYS licensure (LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LCAT, LMFT)
Minimum of one year clinical experience.
Experience working with children and/or families impacted by trauma,
abuse, and/or loss preferred.
