I have been living in Miramar Peninsula I have been living in Greytown with Peter since
(Te Motu Kairangi) in Wellington since 2016 1988. We “weekended” at first and then for the

I work in 2D, mainly acrylic and watercolour. and over the years I have attended classes
I have exhibited in many group exhibitions at in Wellington and with Masterton Art Club

                                  in Wairarapa, celebrating Greytown’s unique
heritage in in a fresh, lighthearted way. I’m still
very interested in recording ‘place’ (both physical
and interior worlds), and drawing on location
regularly with ‘urban sketchers’ in Wellington has
fed into my recent work. Drawing is the route
that takes me from observation to that joyful
space of imagination and expression. My work is

I was born in the North of England in a small the rugged colours and textures of Western Australia and our own native birdlife and

where my childhood escape as far back as I can
remember was my pencils and paper. I spent I see a composition in every observation as I travel from day to day around our
countless hours sketching anything that caught my beautiful country and the pleasure I have in transferring this to canvas is immeasurable
imagination and interest. As a teenager as much as and to have people find enjoyment in my work is the icing on the cake and my hope is
I wanted to pursue my art it was never considered that people feel the same emotion from my work as I do in producing it.
an option back then as a serious career.
I am currently a full time grandmother to two beautiful little girls and although my life
Arriving in New Zealand as a sixteen year old has changed due to their needs, my love of painting remains a passion.
with my passion on hold I immediately started
work and my education was put aside until I was My desire is to grow old with eyesight intact and paintbrush in hand!
