“What Would Ma Say”, gives an honest yet humorous glimpse into
life in an impoverished 1950s and 60s Dublin as seen through the
eyes of writer Kathleen Doyle. Born into a tenement house in Dublin
City before moving out to Crumlin with her family, Kathleen was one
of twelve children and was always “the big sister”, she was the one
her siblings turned to while her parents Phil and Lil struggled to
make ends meet in an Ireland many of us wouldn’t recognise today.
Her mother Lil is shown as the backbone of the family, the one who
kept them together while her father Phil worked all manner of jobs
to try to keep their heads above water.

THE SIX MARYS has been greatly enjoyed by audiences all over
Ireland. The play is a comical yet poignant look at life from childhood
in the 1950s to the present day. It is written and narrated by Jean
Farrell, with supporting actress/singer Catherine Gallagher. The play
tells the story of six girls christened Mary. Excerpts from diaries are
interspersed with songs and soundtracks from the different eras.
The audience is brought on a journey depicting the social history
of the time: the comics, the catechism and the stork; the nuns,
the processions and the gym slips; the hops, the hopes and the
‘big day’; the babies, the teenagers and reality. This journey of self-
discovery is laced with one-liners guaranteed to make you laugh!

A powerful piece of devised theatre from An Tain Arts Centre’s
Company-In-Residence exploring the issue of mental illness in
Ireland. I’m falling between the cracks in myself, and I don’t know
how to crawl back out… Quintessence Theatre use their innovative
physical ensemble story-telling techniques mingled with multi-media
platforms of film and music to poignantly explore the profound
struggle individuals with mental illness face on a daily basis in
Ireland today. In this darkly comical and deeply moving new play an
unsuccessful suicide attempt leaves young Leanne Dowd estranged
and attempting to pick up the pieces of a life still shattered by
mental illness.

All FOR ME GROG the SONGS and STORY of THE DUBLINERS
‘From the moment they struck up Whiskey In The Jar you knew you
were in for a good night and indeed it was,’ is a quote from Liam
Murphy’s review of ALL FOR ME GROG the Songs and Story of THE
DUBLINERS in the Munster Express. Performed by THE LIBERTIES,
the songs and tunes of LUKE KELLY, RONNIE DREW, BARNEY McKENNA,
CIARAN BURKE and JOHN SHEEHAN is brought to life using the exact
same instrumentation and close as you will get vocals to the
originals, creating a show in sound and appearance of uncanny
accuracy of the internationally acclaimed DUBLINERS.

Written and composed by Shauna Carrick and directed by Andrew
Keates, Chromatics returns after sell out performances in April this
year along with a successful outing at the West End’s Other Palace.
James is trying to create his first masterpiece, while Al is ready to
fly the nest for the big city. As for Kate, she’s just trying to hold
it all together. This is a story about graduating, dreaming big and
slowly realising that “it” may not happen, at least not as planned.
Aspirations swiftly dashed, plans pulverised and unexpected
ultimatums, we follow a group of friends as they journey through
their new unknown. A story where everyone screws up. But with
songs.

The best Christmas music, the most-loved Christmas carols and
songs. New Dublin Voices can’t wait to revisit the Mill Theatre’s
magical mix of space and intimacy. It’s going to be a great night.
And not just carols! Christmas with New Dublin Voices is full of
high spirits and fun, readings from great Christmas stories and
poems, and laughs for everyone. And what exactly is the Good King
Wenceslas Mexican Wave? Will you or someone you know step up
and have a go conducting Jingle Bells? Above all – gorgeous music
for Christmas. Like The Snowman. Maybe a little crooning – Have
Yourself a Merry Little Christmas anyone? And carols old and new,
favourites and surprises.

Mary Coughlan is arguably one of Ireland’s greatest female jazz and
blues singers, a true artist who has carved out a timeless and highly
regarded career and a legion of devoted fans worldwide. Described
as “Ireland’s Billie Holiday’ Mary has overcome childhood trauma,
alcoholism & drug addiction to become a musical force like no
other. Her seminal first album Tired and Emotional rocketed her to
overnight fame in 1985, and fifteen albums later, her ability to deeply
connect with both the song & her audience remains undiminished, a
testament to her inner strength and to the power of transformation
& redemption. Mary live is in a league of her own, her glorious husky
voice pulling every ounce of emotion from the music.

who defied all odds to become the first working-
