2Introduction
9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his
own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you
out of darkness into his marvelous light.
1 Peter 2:9
This year, BBPC’s mission theme is “A disciple strives to live a missional life”. The
word “missional” describes a lifestyle, a state of being which is defined by a deep
desire to be on mission with God to redeem mankind for eternity. Being missional, the
disciple of Christ is always mindful that he/she is committed to proclaim Christ
wherever God places him/her. It is a state of being that seeks to bring our faith to bear
on every area of our lives, private and public.
It is also important to note that being missional is more than evangelism. It is coming
to terms that the church fundamental identity as a “sent people” or “sent community”
(John 20:21). Scripture tells us that God is on a mission. God took the initiative to
pursue mankind since the fall to redeem them; Jesus Christ embodied that mission; the
Holy Spirit is the power of that Mission; and the church is the agent to join God in His
mission to reach its local community and the world through word and deeds (Col 3:7).
As a missional disciple-making church, we pray that believers at BBPC will consciously
incarnate the 4 DNAs of grow, love, serve and multiply in missional living in every
sphere of their lives. We need to strive to live a missional life that is seen by people in
our unique circles of influence, specifically in our homes, neighbourhood, schools,
workplaces, businesses and the world so as to draw people to Christ.
May the Lord empower us to be Christ-centered, outward-focused disciples wherever
He sends us to be His witnesses in this world.
Yours for God’s Glory

Background:
The BBPC Assimilation Ministry was established in 3Q 2017 in line with BBPC’s
existing vision of being a Christ-centred body of fruitful disciples. The Ministry
recognises that no visitor or attendant of BBPC’s church services and activities
becomes automatically a part of the church of God. A process must take place to
bring such an individual to meaningful relationships within the body of Christ
before a Church-goer makes the journey from a mere participant to a committed
serving member and finally a fruitful disciple of Christ.
In 2018, the Ministry took over the function of the BBPC Befrienders and Ushers
ministries and conducted a training and appreciation lunch in June 2018 for the
existing ministries. The Ministry now administers the collection and processing of
the “Pink Visitor Forms”, and new visitors to BBPC are invited to a bi-monthly
Welcome Luncheon where leaders of BBPC are present to interact with these
visitors.
Ministry Focus:
In 2019, the Ministry hopes to work closely with the Ministry Committee to
sharpen and focus its planning and ministries to strategically and intentionally
build up the body of BBPC, focusing on where integration and assimilation is
most needed in the church body.
The Ministry has identified at least the following four pillars to focus on in 2019:
1) Hospitality, 2) Information gathering and administration, 3) Connection, and 4)
Synergy.

The Ministry would like to support the following church activities in 2019:
Alpha Course & CG integration: The Ministry plans to develop a framework
whereby graduates of the Alpha Course can visit existing CGs, or form new CGs
comprising young Christians lead by more mature members of BBPC;
Breakfast Fellowship: The Ministry believes that the monthly Breakfast
Fellowship can enhance the interactions within the ongoing Welcome Luncheons
by functioning as an additional opportunity where visitors get to meet BBPC
members and leaders. The Ministry will be considering how church leaders can
take a more intentional approach to build the spirit of community using the
platform of Breakfast Fellowship;
Fellowship Ministries: The Ministry recognises the fellowship and small group
activities (Bible study) conducted by the Ladies Fellowship, Men’s Fellowship
Palm Fellowship and Young Adults Fellowship and will be developing processes
whereby representatives from each fellowship ministry will be in-charge of
contacting and connecting with BBPC visitors who fall within the “fit” of their
respective ministry activities.

Our Mission Statement: "Christian Education Ministry seeks to support the
church's vision of “Loving God, Loving One Another, and Loving the Lost” by
educating and equipping members in the Word of God through Christ-centred
resources, creatively structured programs and outreach activities. We aim to
strengthen spiritual formation, equip and develop Godly leaders of
tomorrow. We seek to provide a spirit-filled environment for members to
serve in their areas of strength, empowering them to live out God’s calling."
Key Verse: “to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the
body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge
of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the
fullness of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:12-13)

10Ministry Focus for 2019: In line with the church theme of “A disciple strives
for a missional life.” in 2019, the Christian Education ministry will focus on
equipping members to understand the meaning of ‘missional life’ and to join
God in His mission; living out our faith, sharing the gospel and embodying the
kingdom of God in our communities.
New Plans for a yearly repeatable Bible Overview class (Follow-Up
Class)
A gap has been identified for a foundational Bible overview class to help
spiritually young Christians have a grounding in the big picture of the biblical
storyline, which can also be applicable for more mature Christians that lack
such foundation. Plan to use ‘God’s Big Picture’ free online material (video
and discussion guide) as curriculum, starting sometime in second half of
2019 concurrent with second Alpha round.
1. Sunday School Sub-Committee
Rebecca Phua (Sunday School Superintendent)
Cecilia Fung, Bernice Chiang, Jasmine Lee, Catherine Wong, Shini Lin,
Serena Tan, Vanessa Tan
The Sunday School (SS) 2019 plans stay largely the same with the addition
of exploration of a toddler SS class (Age 18 months- 3 years) and aligning
the programmes such as the June and December holidays special activities
to the church theme of missional living. For committee renewal, we are
continuously praying that more church members will step up to serve,
especially those who can help teach at the upper primary levels.
Children’s Sunday School (Throughout the year)
The children will be involved in the church corporate worship on 1st and 5th
Sunday of the month to encourage families to worship together. The SS will
continue to use the “DiscipleLand” material as the curriculum.
Sunday School Special Events
Celebration of Mother’s, Father’s, Teachers’ and Children’s Day in Sunday
School helps the children to appreciate and demonstrate their love for the
Church family who impacts their spiritual formation. The Sunday School will
also celebrate Easter and Christmas.
June and December holiday programmes
The Sunday School is planning for meaningful programmes such as crafts,
movies and games to engage the children in the combined classes during the
school holidays. 2018 saw a new collaboration with the Library team in
moving the Mobile Library into the SS classroom and promoting readership
via games during the SS class. This collaboration will be expanded into
2019.
Transition of Sunday School children to YF. The SS will work with the
11Youth Fellowship Ministry to facilitate a smooth transition of Primary 6
children to YF after their PSLE.
Committee renewal and training for teachers
We will continue to look for appropriate training workshops and seminars to
better equip the teachers in their pedagogy and classroom management.
The committee will also focus on improving the bonding and appreciation of
the teachers such as meeting to pray for the students weekly before classes
and internal fellowship platforms for teachers to share their challenges and
good practices.
Equipping the parents in parenting. Workshops and seminars will also be
organized to equip the parents in effective parenting and discipling of children
to complement the efforts of the Sunday School teachers in encouraging
spiritual growth in the children.
Housekeeping of resources. The teaching materials, resources and
stationeries will be stock checked and organized into a one-stop resource
centre and be made available to all the teachers.
2. Library Sub-Committee

the library so that it can be opened for longer hours. With the 2018
improvements such as new seating furniture, brighter lights, better positioning
of books to allow easier browsing, a book drop, new signages and new alerts
on New Arrivals- Books or DVDs and the mobile display rack, the library team
will continue to spruce up the library space to promote readership.
Library Stock management
2018 has seen huge progress in the library with Veron as the new Chief
Librarian and a bigger team of church members who have stepped up to
serve. These new volunteers have been organized into a few sub-teams to
12take care of publicity, data & systems, acquisition and circulation duties.
After the major book stock-taking in 2018 with books inventoried at 1,517 and
disposed at 516 (due to bad condition, inappropriate content or re-
organisation), the library team will continue to source for appropriate books
and make recommendations.
Borrowing of library

will continue to
improve the processes
and increase
readership.
Book reviews in bulletin insert.
Regular book reviews have started and published in bulletin regularly as well
as displayed in the library to encourage readership of good Christian books to
deepen their relationship with God. The library has also established an online
catalogue on BBPC website to facilitate access to library books and
encourage greater readership.
3. Alpha Sub-committee
James Chi, Matthew Yap (Coordinators)
Dn Dr James Kah, Amy Toh, Joralyn Grace Sabote Nalam
Two runs of Alpha course will be conducted in a year. By sharing the Word of
God in the Alpha course, we lead pre-believing participants to know the Lord.
New Christians from the Alpha course are also encouraged to attend follow-up
class and Baptism class to further deepen their relationship with God. Alpha
participants are encouraged to return and serve in subsequent runs of the
Alpha course after they have graduated.
Alpha course
In 2018, two runs of the Alpha Course were conducted as planned with many
participants continuing into the church Baptism Class. The Alpha Part 2 which
covers the last 4 lessons in the Alpha Course is being planned for January and
13February before the 2019 Alpha run starts again. This Part 2 was developed
after a survey with Alpha participants was conducted and the participants all
wanted to delve deeper into the Alpha topics. The committee will also review
how to tap on other Alpha workshops and resources such as Alpha Marriage,
Parenting and Youth.

ministry and plan for the direction and strategies towards the new vision.
Equipping Alpha class facilitators
New facilitators went for Alpha Empower centralized training so that they can
help in the facilitation of new Alpha runs. The Sub ministry will continue to look
for suitable and interested church members to be equipped through this
training so that the pool of facilitators can be expanded.
4. Adult Bible Class Sub-committee
Ps Timothy Ho (Coordinator)
Dn Dr James Kah
Dn Choong Siew Ling
The purpose of the Adult Bible Class (ABC) is to encourage our congregation
to grow in the word of God, so as to deepen our relationship with Christ. It is
part of the overall disciple-making ministry of the church. The goal of disciple-
making is to produce committed followers of Jesus Christ who love God and
love people just as the Lord has taught us, as they mature into the likeness of
Christ (Eph 4:1-16).Thus, the contribution of the ABC Class is to teach the
word of God in such a way that lives are transformed, and members grow in
their likeness of Christ as they engage in the study of God’s word.
Framework of the Adult Bible Class.
The ABC shall adopt a simple framework for its courses. The idea is to have
a balanced curriculum, comprising roughly 1/3 Bible (biblical studies), 1/3
Theology (Christian doctrine) and 1/3 Ministry (practical issues of life and
ministry). The classes will be delivered in modules of 4 sessions each, on
alternate months, by our own core team of teachers comprising of the
pastors, elders and deacons.
14 Adult Bible Class in 2019
The ABC classes are being planned with alignment to church theme on
missional living. For the Bible studies class, the plan is to cover Proverbs.
For the Theology class, the topic will be ‘Missional Living - Living out our
Faith.’ The Practical Ministry track will involve an invited speaker to cover
living out our faith in our work.
5. CE Committee
All members of the four sub-ministries will come together at the start of the
year to share their joy and struggles in their ministry in the past year and to
re-dedicate themselves in their calling in the respective sub-ministries.

vision and mission which will remain unchanged as follow:
Vision:
Knowing the church as you would your family
Mission
To provide clear and updated information through creative and constructive
communication engagements of our church members and community based
upon –
“Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him
who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held
together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working
properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.” – Ephesians
4:15-16
The Communications Ministry endeavours to champion BBPC continuous
transition, transformation and optimization of our people engagement best
practices and out-reach experiences through meaningful adoption of available
media platforms and information technology solutions. Through this process,
we aim to foster closer bonding and sense of family identity amongst our
congregation members, and to continuously outreach to the communities of
pre-believers on word of Christ.
17Enhanced Operating Framework in 2019
Objectives
Alignment optimization for focused support across all ministries and sub-
ministries
Organize dedicated teams to manage specific functional and administrative
tasks
To solicit and leverage our congregation talents to contribute in their interest
areas
Focus Areas for 2019
1. Ministries Collaboration
We have successfully collaborated with several ministries as well as sub-
ministries jointly exploiting our available media platforms for publicity work.
Some encouraging examples are:
- On-line web search of our library content catalogue
- On-line prayers, thanksgiving and visitation request
- Alpha runs on-line registration and ABC classes publicity
- Men & Women Fellowship events publicity
We will continue to expand our partnership scope by reaching out to other
ministries not yet using our media platform
18Key Actions:
To designate focused resources from our ministry regularly
reaching out and engaging all ministries to expand our
partnership scope
2. Workflow Optimization
Extending upon our current process for information sharing and exchange
with BBPC Admin Office team, we can further streamline and improve the
ground-level process execution. This can potentially help facilitate a more
comprehensive and timely information dissemination through our ministry
media platforms
Key Actions:
To harmonize our work processes with the English Congregation
admin with an objective to improve information dissemination
lead-time to our congregation
3. Major BBPC Events
We have actively supported and contributed to the many publicity collaterals
design, creation and publication for the major BBPC events such as:

We have successfully implemented 2 units of internet-enabled LED TV notice
board serving ground lobby at Level 1 and outside East Sanctuary at level 3.
Publicity information are now displayed real-time across our TV as they are
uploaded onto our BBPC website.
19As the technology and available media platforms evolve, we must constantly
keep up by studying and reviewing these platforms. We can then make an
educated assessment of their suitability for implementation within our BBPC
environment
Key Actions:
We will review feasibility for formation of a Technology sub-
committee within our ministry to potentially spearhead all future
media and technology adoption in BBPC

Mission Statement: To be the salt and light which leads to transforming lives in
the community and growing BBPC
Key verse: “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may
see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven” (Matthew
5:16)
Objectives: 1) To be the social and spiritual centre in Bukit Batok
community by 2019
2) To attract singles, young families & elderly through
meeting their needs
3) To establish BBPC’s presence among new households
around Bukit Batok
1. Introduction
The Evangelism ministry’s focus for 2018 has been to reach out to 2
groups of people in the neighbourhood and new estates, namely the
seniors aged 60 and above and young families with children. Events such
as Neighbourfest and Christmas carolling are efforts the team made to
cater to our target groups.
Building on the learnings of the past year, we concluded with a seasonal
approach to plan for 2019. Its objective is to better integrate the sub-
ministries to the church as well as growing and partnering alongside the
many who serve tirelessly out of the church.
We hope that through this, we can be closely partnering, equipping and
supporting the efforts of the sub-ministries.
2. Sustaining Intentional Evangelism Ministry in BBPC
The Evangelism Committee (EC) recognises that the key contributors to the
work of evangelism in BBPC are the various sub-ministries (Sub-Ministries
(SM)). The EC oversees the work of the following SMs:

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your
mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as
yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31
Vision: That BBPC grows in unity in our worship of the Lord.
Mission: To facilitate the congregation’s growth in both personal and corporate
worship of the Lord for His glory.
Strategy: To facilitate corporate worship through deliberate arrangement and
consistent, prayerful conduct of the worship service and its various aspects, such
as the welcome, the songs of praise and the sacraments. To facilitate growth in
personal worship by renewed focus on the ministry of the Word, through song
and the pulpit.
34Plans and Initiatives
2017/2018 saw several changes made to the flow of BBPC’s corporate worship
services, which were designed to facilitate the corporate worship of God through
greater focus on the Word through the pulpit messages and song selection.
1) A key objective of the Worship Ministry is to have consistency in the quality
of worship services between both the 0830 and 1030 allowing worshippers
to better sing and participate in the worship service every week. Although
both services now have the same format, with a common song leader and
the same praise songs within each week, there needs to be more
consistency in the musical worship in the following areas:
i. To achieve greater consistency, the Worship Ministry will adjust
the deployment and setup of the music teams.
ii. There are about 10 song leaders across the 3 music teams. Each has
their own musical style and preferences. To achieve greater
consistency, the Worship Ministry will prayerfully consider
collectively selecting songs in advance, and focusing on song
leader alignment and/or redeployment.
2) The Worship Ministry will also focus on the ministry of the Word and prayer
in 2019.
i. Collectively selecting songs of praise in advance will allow music
teams to align to sermon themes, such that the songs can
prepare/reinforce the Word being preached that week.
ii. The reintroduction of a musical prelude and postlude will aid
worshippers in entering a time of personal reflection and prayer. This
can lead to worshippers coming forward to request for prayer from
pastors/elders, or joining in corporate prayer in between services.
iii. Sharing the Word and praying together during music practices
will help music teams grow in our understanding and personal worship
of God, and foster cohesiveness with the team. This practice will be
reinforced.

the basics of Christianity. Each session of CRUX explores the fundamentals of
the Christian Faith and progressively equips the youths with Biblical knowledge
to strengthen their faith and understanding of the Bible. At the end of six years,
we aim for the essence of Christianity and the Gospel to be ingrained within
them, such that they will be confident to answer questions such as “what does
Holy Communion mean”, “how do we pray” etc.
