What should I expect at the event?

Visit the planet’s uppermost Shangri-La. Watch as the journey unfolds before you, as you leave behind the lush and recognisable south-western
Himalayas and scale towards a stunning, arid, jagged and mysterious expanse that looks almost outlandish

Experience accommodation that is luxuriant, cosy and unequalled. Taj Vivanta in Chandigarh is but a taste of what this journey has on offer.

Drive through the many magnificent and breathtaking mountain passes that straddle the journey. Kuzum pass is known for its 15 sharp hairpin bends,
and is truly an adventure in its own right

Indulge your awe, as you ingratiate yourself in the local Indo-Tibetian culture. A stop at Kaza, and the Key and Dhankar monasteries is a must. Hikkim
village is considered the world’s highest village and is renowned for its “highest in the world” post office and polling station

Relish the local food and culture – from Butter Tea to momos. The highway Maggie is a delicacy onto itself. Must be the mountain air and the Ladakhi
love… The taste of Ladakhi and Tibetan food is fresh, moreish and unforgettable.

A chance to spot diverse mountain fauna; including Bactrian camels, Wild Yak, Marmots, brown bears, red foxes, and the Himalayan Musk deer, to
name a few.

Leh has something for everyone, with the mysterious Magnetic Hill, beautiful Shanti Stupa, majestic monasteries, entrapping beauty, colourful cafes
and ancient alleyways
Drive FAQs

Visit the Pangong Tso, a lake nestled amongst the high peaks, at an altitude of around 14,270 feet. The lake is 134 kilometers in length and stretches
from Eastern Ladakh, and into Tibet. The crystal-clear waters of the lake transforms between shades of blue and green, throughout the day.

If you think you have seen enough of Ladakh, well think again. Khardung La is claimed to be the world’s highest motorable pass, and figures aside,
this pass is sure to be one of the show-stoppers of your journey. But, don’t trust us on this; after all, seeing (it in person) is believing

Revel in the company of your fellow SOUL travellers as you bond over 1500 odd kilometres of experiences, exploration and transitory emancipation
from the world.

What’s the weather like during the drive?
During this time, Leh is an unparalleled paradise, with clear, stunning views, warm and sunny weather – the average temperature range is about 5–
32°C. However, we recommend you carry enough sun protection (sunglasses, sun screen & caps) and warm clothes (jackets/ windcheaters) as the
weather may change during the course of our drive.

What are the roads going to be like?
You will be driving through high mountain terrains. The roads can be challenging at some places. Driving with caution is recommended, especially if
you haven’t driven in such terrain earlier. Though a 4x4 is preferred, a 4x2 with some skilful driving can keep you in good stead too.
