7.0 Reports
7.01 Principal
Spring has sprung and since our return from March Break, the school has been filled with
the positive energy brought on by the warmer weather. With the sun shining and the
snow melting, this has given our teachers more opportunities to engage their students in
pedagogical activities, outdoors. We are also continuing to follow the strict guidelines
from DRSP and doing everything necessary to provide our staff and students with the
safest environment possible.
Students in grade 1 to grade 6 are now required to wear a procedural (pediatric) mask
at all times while in school and on the bus. Students are adjusting very well to this new
sanitary measure. Thank you to the CPS staff and teachers for helping our students
navigate this new situation. Masks were mandated by the Ministry and are provided by
the school each day.
Christmas Park Elementary Governing Board Minutes March 18, 2021 3In March, we start our formal planning for the next school year. The staffing process has
begun, and we continue to get new registrations from K4 to grade 6.
Before leaving for March break, we hosted our Carnival week. I would like to thank the
committee for doing an amazing job and for preparing a program that made students,
and adults, smile and have a marvelous time.
Board wide ped days are scheduled for March 29th and 30th with a wide array of
professional development opportunities being offered by the ESD and SSD teams.

7.06 Commissioner Report
The Director General shared the Annual Report and overall the LBPSB has shown progress
in many areas. It was also noted that due to the shutdown that occurred March 13th,
2020 the report does not include the ministry exams which can play a role in the more
complete results. She of course gave an update on COVID 19 and its impact on the
school board. Trends continue downwards at the school board. She congratulated all
the incredible work being done by everyone in this continued endeavour.
The DG and all of the senior administration wished all the teachers the best for Teacher
Appreciation Week and extended her gratitude to all the staff that have played such a
huge role in keeping students engaged in the past year.

communications that are sent out by the school board.
The student representatives on council presented a resolution that they have forwarded
