Gap between Theory and Practice
• Clear-cut guidance on care and treatment of blood-borne
  infections available for Swiss prisons
     high variation of medical services, large differences between the
     various institutions

• Prevention of blood-borne infections (including syringes and
  needles exchange) introduced in Swiss prisons since early
  1990s
    10-15% of prisons offer syringes/needles exchange

• To support local prison projects on HBV, HCV, HIV care
