Competitors must display your numbers whilst competing, so bring a show clip or pin or armband. We will also have safety pins available. Please advise the Car Park Steward on arrival if you have a reactive dog and would like to park away from others. Do NOT setup before the Car Park Steward is on duty around 7:15am, some areas will be reserved. Please advise if you have mobility issues, there are steps down to the outdoor searches, and a bit of a hill at the exit.
CHECK IN Will be between 8:00 and 8:15am. Vetting will be conducted at the same time. If you intend to arrive after 8:15am please let us know beforehand or you may be scratched. CATALOGUE Competitor information has been copied from your data in K9entries to the catalogue. Please check that all details are correct and notify the Trial Manager of any errors so these can be amended prior to printing of pass cards, these details MUST be accurate (with registered names, not call names) or your pass cards may be invalid. We will endeavour to provide Live updates on K9entries throughout the day. PRESENTATIONS Presentations will be held on the verandah after the searches are completed and the necessary paperwork and scoring is finalised. Some help with packup would also be appreciated while waiting. There are sashes and prizes for qualifying 1st to 3rd places. A Best in Trial Rosette will be awarded based on performance (the fact that people have 3 or 4 entries WILL be taken into account when calculating this). Qualifying ribbons are also available. Unfortunately pass cards are not yet available from Dogs Victoria, they should be available for collection at the Morwell Trial, or they can be mailed out on request. COVID SAFE PLAN SCENT WORK TRIALS All persons attending this event will be familiar this COVID Safe Plan and will be expected to comply with all requirements the Plan and other State, local government and Dogs Victoria guidelines when participating in Scent Work activities. A COVID Marshall, who has completed the Infection Control Training – COVID 19, shall be appointed for the trial. The COVID Marshall shall brief all attendees in the staging area about the rules and requirements for COVID compliance and undertake duties to ensure compliance with the following conditions: All surfaces and equipment are wiped down and disinfected before commencing the searches, at the completion of each element and at the end of each day; Any person attending with COVID-like symptoms must be immediately isolated and sent home; A Contact Register, containing the names, phone numbers and/or email addresses, and the approximate arrival and departure times of attendees is maintained; Social distancing is maintained at all times; Masks must be worn indoors and externally whenever social distancing cannot be maintained; Regular and thorough hand washing is encouraged; Hand sanitiser dispensers are provided at check in area; Bins are provided at the venue and regularly emptied; Staggered starting times to minimize the risk of congregation; Attendees must remain in/near their vehicles until called for their search; The Judge and the Hide Steward, wearing protective gloves, are the only persons permitted to handle shared scent work equipment and ensure equipment is wiped clean after use; The only persons permitted in the Search Area are the Judge, Timer, Search Area Steward, and Handler (and the Hide Steward when required); The next handler does not enter the Search Area until the previous handler has left the area;
Spectators will not be permitted at any Scent Work Trial until COVID restrictions are relaxed to permit group gatherings, and then only at the judge’s discretion; Handlers must provide their own equipment for their dog and must not touch any equipment other than their own dog’s attire; Participants must immediately leave the venue upon completion of their rostered tasks. The Affiliate conducting the trial will be responsible for restoring the venue to its original condition and ensure that used areas are cleaned and disinfected.
