Now that we have reached rst month mark, we hope you have found a routine and pattern to make virtual learning somewhat manageable for your family. The attached document Vaccination Records provides information about the importance of vaccinations and the state requirements, how parents can submit vaccination records, and upcoming vaccinations clinics. 8th Grade Families High School choice forms will be going live soon, however, I advise you to NOT complete your form until we have completed our advisory lessons together. We will have a lesson in advisory classes on October 16th and October 19th to talk about this process. The form will not be due until early November, so again, please wait at least until these advisory lessons are completed to submit your form! Regarding application-based programs, The Student Eligibility Report can be found in the Document folder of both Parent VUE and Student VUE in Synergy. The application is ONLY available in the ParentVue

Students can earn up to three SSL hours by participating in the wellness activities throughout the week. Details can be found on the schedule. Be sure to attend advisory period on Friday to complete a quick google form to receive your SSL hours. We can't wait to see you participate in wellness this week!
SPIRIT WEEK!! 10/19-10/23 SPIRIT Week: Attention ALL 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Students! The SGA has put together a spirit week for LMS students and staff to help keep the Loiederman spirits up high during these different times! You can check out our poster here or on our Loiederman website! We can’t wait to see all of our Loiederman Lions participating during zoom classes for this awesome, fun, virtual spirit week! GRADE LEVEL PARENT MEETINGS Grade Level Parent Meetings: Wednesday, October 7 from 6pm- 6:30pm: We will host our grade level parent meetings, where we will cover major topics related to each grade. We will have meetings in English and Spanish and the information for the google meet links to attend the meetings are organized by grade level and language and will be located on our website and MyMCPS classroom. We will also have an asynchronous presentation that you are able to watch at your own pace that covers general topics for virtual learning at Loiederman. We encourage you to watch this and bring your questions to the grade level parent meeting at 6pm. CALLING ALL ENVIRONMENTALISTS! SGA KICKS OFF CLIMATE CHALLENGES! Happy October LMS! The Student Government has been hard at work trying to nd ways to combat and bring awareness to the big issue of climate change. It is a big issue in our world and the more people who know can help. As we all know, change and action are what gets stuff going! With that being said, the SGA wants to roll out some fun engaging activities that bene t the world and help stop the climate crisis. If you are someone who wants to help and be out in nature, this is for you!
The SGA will be rolling out our Climate Challenges that are engaging, fun, and bene cial to our world. We have 3 different Challenges that you can choose from. You have until Thanksgiving Weekend (40 days) to complete the challenge. Over Thanksgiving break, we will announce our challenge winners via Instagram! _______ Composting Challenge: Depending on the size composting can take up to 3 months or more so you might not nish but as long as you document it throughout the challenge, it still counts! Compost and document your process day to day up until Thanksgiving using this document. Learn more about how to compost at home here. Before Thanksgiving break, send your nished document to the LMS SGA at studentgovo ms@gmail.com 30-piece trash pickup Challenge: Until Thanksgiving days pick up 30 pieces or more of trash around your neighborhood or any outside location each day. KEEP ALL THE TRASH in a bag so that you can take a pick of you and your 30 at the end of the 40 days to send to us for con rmation at: studentgovo ms@gmail.com No Plastic Challenge: For 30 days try to use 0 pieces of plastic including bags, bottles, and cups. This one is hard so the rst 3 people to send us a note letting us know you nished the challenge and used 0 plastic are included in our Instagram. Calling for Queremos Recipes! Recetas! For this year’s Hispanic Heritage Month, LMS thought it would be fun to explore the diversity of Hispanic cuisine. From Mexico to Central America, from the Caribbean to Northern and Southern South America, we celebrate the histories, cultures and contributions of our Hispanic families. The rich diversity of Hispanic cuisine opens up a world of possibilities when cultivating Hispanic-inspired meals during this month of celebration and throughout the year. We are excited to welcome Loiederman families to share their favorite Hispanic inspired recipes. To contribute your family's recipe, ll out the Google form attached below and we will collect all the recipes in a cookbook that we will share with our Loiederman families. CHROMEBOOK OBLIGATIONS Chromebook Damage Financial Responsibility Information Students and their families are now nancially responsible for any intentional or accidental damage of any Chromebook loaned out to the student. The O ce of Technology and Innovation has created a technical document outlining the Chromebook obligation process. This document identi es the costs associated with each type of repair or replacement, as well as where students and families can go to have a repair performed. CHOOSE RESPECT PSA Choose Respect Video PSA Contest Accepting Entries The 11th Annual Choose Respect Montgomery video PSA contest is now accepting entries. This contest challenges middle and high school students to create an original 50- to 70- second public service announcement video to promote awareness of dating abuse and domestic violence among teens. The contest is open to students in Grades 6 through 12, and students may enter on their own or as a group. The top three videos win cash prizes. The submission deadline is Monday, March 1, 2021. El undécimo concurso anual de anuncios de servicio público en video. Elija Respeto Montgomery ya está aceptando entradas. This acclaimed arts competition is offered in partnership with the National PTA and allows our students to express themselves through their gifts and talents in the arts! The theme for the 2020-2021 program year is "I Matter Because...." To participate in this program, students should create original art around this compelling theme.
