US Naval Academy Alumni Association presents New Orleans Holiday featuring 4 Nights in the French Quarter 5 Days November 30-December 4, 2021
Dear US Naval Academy Alumni and Friends,
Experience the festive holiday atmosphere in New Orleans on this five-day getaway.
Unpack once and enjoy four nights at one hotel in the city’s legendary French Quarter filled
with historic restaurants, jazz clubs & shops. While in the “Quarter”, enjoy a French Quarter
Walking Tour featuring the St. Louis Cathedral, Bourbon Street, Pirates Alley and the French
Marketplace. Board the Steamboat Natchez for a relaxing and informative cruise on the Mis-
sissippi River.
On another day, a New Orleans City Tour will provide visits to the Garden District,
Longue Vue Gardens & House and an above ground cemetery. While traveling outside of New
Orleans, visit Oak Alley Plantation, one of the state’s most visited antebellum homes featuring
a quarter-mile long canopy of giant live oak trees, believed to be 300-years old. Time at lei-
sure during this program will allow you to experience New Orleans and the French Quarter at
your own pace. Cafes, art galleries and shopping are steps away from your hotel. Maybe visit
the Mardi Gras Museum, World War II Museum or take a peek at Santa’s Quarter, a popular
holiday store.
Of course, no trip to Nawlins would be complete without the famous tastes of local
cuisine. Experience a local holiday tradition with a Reveilion dinner, stop for beignets and
café au lait at Café du Monde, take home some recipes after your entertaining dinner at the
New Orleans School of Cooking and enjoy dinner at the historic Court of Two Sisters. On your
last evening, enjoy a visit to the Celebration in the Oaks, located at New Orleans City Park.
With over a million lights, this is one of the most spectacular holiday lights festivals in the
country. For over 30 years, City Park has transformed into a magical winter spectacle with
famous oaks swathed in twinkling lights scattered throughout 25 acres of the park.
New Orleans is one of the most photogenic & unique cities in the world. Its wrought-
iron balconies and lush tropical courtyards, the liveliness of Bourbon Street and Frenchmen
Street, the historic riverboats on the Mississippi River – all become more vivid during the

Daily Itinerary
DAY 1: Arrive New Orleans
Today arrive in New Orleans for a four night stay in the exciting French Quarter.
Be sure to experience “The Quarter” filled with fabulous restaurants and jazz
clubs. This evening enjoy a Reveillon Welcome Dinner, a traditional Creole
holiday feast.
(D) Overnight: New Orleans
Day 2: French Quarter Tour - STEAMBOAT Natchez Cruise
This morning enjoy a French Quarter Walking Tour featuring the St. Louis
Cathedral with adjoining Cabildo and rectory, Bourbon Street, Pirates Alley and
the French Marketplace. Next visit the famous Café du Monde to enjoy café au
lait and beignets. Later board the Steamboat Natchez for a relaxing cruise on
the Mississippi River. This evening enjoy dinner with your fellow travelers at the
famous New Orleans School of Cooking.
(B,D) Overnight: New Orleans
Day 3: New Orleans - Oak Alley Plantation
Today enjoy a New Orleans City Tour. Visit the Garden District which features
one of the best preserved collections of historic southern mansions in the United
States. Visit the Longue Vue Gardens & House, a National Historic Landmark.
The ever-changing gardens provide an inspiring destination year-round to learn
about native plants and flowers. Also stop to view an Above Ground Cemetery
which are both historic & hauntingly beautiful. Later travel outside of New
Orleans to visit and tour Oak Alley Plantation, one of the state’s most visited
antebellum homes featuring a quarter-mile long canopy of giant live oak trees
believed to be 300-years old. Late afternoon return to your hotel and enjoy the
evening at leisure.

Day 4: New Orleans - Celebration in the Oaks
Enjoy the day to experience New Orleans and the Quarter at leisure. Experience
the cafes, art galleries and shopping. Maybe visit the Mardi Gras Museum,
World War II Museum or take a peek at Santa’s Quarter, a popular holiday store.
Tonight enjoy a Farewell Dinner at the Court of Two Sisters, one of the French
Quarter’s most famous restaurants. After dinner board a motorcoach for a
short ride to the New Orleans City Park to visit the Celebration in the Oaks, one
of the most beautiful holiday light exhibits in the country.
