INSTITUTE
Chettinad Dental College and Research Institute (NAAC Accredited "A" grade institution) being a global center
of excellence in learning, teaching, research, health care and service to the community has been established in
the year 2007 by the visionary organization, Raja Sir Muthaiah Chettiar Charitable trust. Our institute is a post
graduate college with 23 MDS seats and 100 undergraduate seats, affiliated to Tamil Nadu Dr.MGR medical
university, Chennai and recognized by the Dental council of India.

APPLICATION, COUNSELLING & ADMISSION PROCESS
The NEET eligible candidates are admitted through Government and Management quota via online
submission of Application issued by the Secretary, Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical
Education, Kilpauk, Chennai.The application form can be accessed at the following official websites:
www.tnmedicalselection.org / www.tnhealth.org
The applications are processed by the Selection Committee and counselling sessions will be conducted
based on Merit for both Government and Management Quota
The Candidates with allotment orders for admission at Chettinad Dental College & Research Institute
must pay the fees as per the deadlines mentioned in the allotment order, failing which, the allotted seat
goes for re-counselling.

Eligibility
Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)
For Government Quota
NEET Qualified
Hub for State-of-the-Art Research Amenities in the campus
Candidates should have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or should complete that
age on or before 31st December of that year.
Candidates should be a Native of Tamil Nadu.
Candidates belonging to Native of Tamil Nadu and having studied from Standard VI to Standard XII in
schools of Tamil Nadu need not submit their “Nativity Certificate”.
However, such candidates should produce the true copies of their parent’s certificates such as Birth
Certificate, Ration Card SSLC/10th/ 12th/ Degree/Diploma/ Professional course. In case, parents are
not literate, then No Graduation Certificate for parents, from the Revenue Authority of competent
jurisdiction, to substantiate their parent’s place of birth in Tamil Nadu and also “Parent’s Community
Certificate to claim the communal reservation”. If the candidates do not submit the above mentioned
certificates, then the candidates will be considered under Open Category only.
Candidates belonging to other States who are residing at Tamil Nadu cannot claim nativity of Tamil Nadu
andthey will be considered under Open Category.
The other State candidates who are not native of Tamil Nadu and have studied from Standard VI to XII
in Tamil Nadu will be considered under Open Category.
For Management Quota
The NEET qualified Candidates should be a Citizen of India and Candidates should have completed the
age of 17 years at the time of admission or should complete that age on or before 31st December of that
year
The NEET qualified Candidates can be NRI’s as per the prospectors of Selection Committee, Directorate of
Medical Education, Chennai, Tamil Nadu guidelines.

Master of Dental Surgery (MDS)
For Management Quota
The NEET qualified Candidates should be a Citizen of India and should have completed BDS course in
any institution in India, approved by Dental Council of India
The NEET qualified Candidates can be NRI’s as per the prospectors of Selection Committee, Directorate
of Medical Education, Chennai, Tamil Nadu guidelines
For Government Quota
Candidates should be a Citizen of India and should have completed BDS course including the entire CRRI
period in the State of Tamil Nadu. (Candidates who complete CRRI in other States are not eligible).
Candidates of Tamil Nadu Nativity who have completed BDS in other States should furnish a Certificate
of Nativity in Tamil Nadu issued by the competent authority only.

ANTI-RAGGING NOTICE
Ragging in any form is prohibited
As per the directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, the University Grants Commission has framed
Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Education Institutions, 2009, and notified in the
Govt. of India Gazette in order to prohibit, prevent and eliminate the scourge of ragging. These regulations
are mandatory and provisions, therefore, punish those who indulge in ragging with reference to the
appropriate law in force.
