OUR HERITAGE
For three generations our family has worked side-by-side to
preserve a passion for woodworking that began decades ago.
While the manufacturing business has changed over the years,
our commitment to making quality furniture remains steadfast.
Our furniture is a testament to the values that guide our
company. The Whittier family heritage of integrity, quality
and delivering on promises endures. Each generation brings
new perspective and strength to our business. We are proud of
where we've come from and where we're going.

1975 After a successful career law, a lumber broker, to help to home centers, discount new collections and furniture
in the pine molding business, move Whittier Wood Products chains and a large number of choices for its customers.
Gordon Whittier bought a forward as a business. unfinished furniture stores. 2006 Responding to a
struggling wood component 1977 The company started 1980 Gordon’s son, Scott, changing market, Whittier
manufacturing facility in producing Ready-to-Assemble joined the company. Business opened its own factory in
Eugene, Oregon. Gordon (RTA), Ready-to-Finish (RTF) grew steadily from 1977 to Vietnam while expanding
hired Evert Slijper, his son-in- furniture kits, which Evert sold 2006 as it continued to add its assembly and finishing

OUR COMPANY
Whittier owns and operates two facilities. Our company
headquarters, production and distribution center is located in
Eugene, Oregon where we operate in 200,000 square feet. In 2006,
we opened our second production facility in Vietnam where we
operate in 172,000 square feet.
OUR PRODUCT
Every operation is conducted in-house, giving us complete control
over all phases of development, manufacturing and quality.
Crafted from sustainable American hardwoods, there is no MDF or
particleboard ever used in our furniture. Some components utilize
hardwood plywood.
Superior construction techniques such as dovetailed drawers,
mortise an tenon joinery, wood doweling and gluing, fitted backs
and more ensure the longevity and stability of each piece we
create. All of our hardware is premium grade to ensure years of use
and satisfaction.

As a manufacturer of products made from natural resources, it is
our responsibility to make sure those resources are well managed.
Our Alder furniture is certified to the PEFC™ Chain of Custody
Standard. PEFC™ is the world’s largest certification standard
promoting sustainable forest management through independent
third party certification.

Alder and Red Birch wood panels ensure beauty, strength and
durability that last a lifetime. The corner connector accessory, available
separately, connects two bookcases of the same height allowing for a
finished look and maximum use of space.

Red Birch hardwoods.

• Dowel and pocket screw construction for strength and durability.
• Fitted backs for structural strength.
