EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
As recent weather has shown, severe weather can strike in our community at any time
leading to power outages leaving you without lights, heat and sometimes water if on a
well. While most disasters can’t be prevented, stress can be reduced through
preparedness. It is your responsibility to plan and prepare for an emergency. This is
particularly important for households with members who have disabilities, special needs
or may need assistance during an emergency.
One of the first steps toward emergency preparedness is having
an emergency supply kit.
* One gallon of water per person per day (a minimum of a three-day supply
* At least a three-day supply of non-perishable food
* First aid kit
* Battery-operated radio, flashlight and extra batteries
* Items for children, seniors, pets, and household members with health or medical needs
Disasters often occur with little notice, so it’s also important to have multiple ways to receive
critical information 24/7, such as through NOAA all-hazards weather alert radios,
Wireless Emergency Alerts enabled on most smartphones, mobile device apps,
TV, radio and the Internet.
www.Ready.gov is a one-stop location for preparedness information on a variety of
hazards. In addition to information on how to prepare for emergencies, the website also
provides guidance on what to do during and after a disaster.Richland Township

2019. Richland has partnered with DCNR to replace the existing large playground near the baseball fields/concession stand, install a
new playground near the Family Recreation Area’s large pavilion, and install a new pavilion/shelter and a new restroom facility at
the dek hockey and soccer area of the Park. These projects will be completed by December of 2020.
This Play On! playground is a National Demonstration Site.
Play On! will be honoring us for our dedication to best practices in youth fitness. Our playground will offer
the six elements of play which helps develop healthy active children.
Swinging , Sliding, Spinning, Balance, Climbing and Brachiating
We are bringing best practice design to our playground to ensure children reap the benefits of active behavior through six elements
of play. The space promotes the benefits of playing in an outdoor environment, which research has shown to promote additional
healthy benefits. A Grand Opening Celebration date will be announced in the future.
