      GOLDEN ROSE, QUEEN OF IRELAND
           OUR LADY OF KNOCK
          FEAST DAY – AUGUST 21
On the evening of August 21, 1879, in the pouring rain,
15 men, women and children, mainly from the village of
Knock in County Mayo, and ranging in age from 5-74 years
old, claimed to see a holy apparition on the south gable of
the local Parish Church.
In the center appeared a beautiful woman, clothed in
white garments, wearing a large brilliant crown. Her hands
rested as if in prayer. This woman was understood by all
who saw her to be the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of
Jesus, the Queen of the Angels. OUR LADY OF KNOCK

with His oppressed children. Lady of Knock, my Queen of Peace.
There were no words spoken during the apparition,
almost as if it meant, “the Irish people have suffered, and Though your message was unspoken,
we are going to be out here in the rain with you for a while.” still the truth in silence lies
No movement, no sound, just an unhurried apparition as we gaze upon your vision,
before a small group or normal, ordinary people. and the truth I try to find.
Ten days after the apparition, the first miracle occurred.
