Seth Task
President
The President is the chief elected officer of Ohio REALTORS® and has the responsibility for all action and activities of the
Association. The President is looked upon as the primary spokesperson for Ohio REALTORS® and the real estate industry in
Ohio. The President is officially installed at the Winter Conference.
Seth has served as member and in leadership on a variety of Akron Cleveland Association of REALTOR Committees, including serving
as its first president in 2014 after participating on the merger task force between the former Cleveland and Akron boards. He leads The Task Team and has
been a REALTOR since 2005. He has appeared before the Federal Reserve Bank, FHFA, Rural Housing Services and the Department of Housing and Urban
Development as an expert in his field.
On the state level, Task served as a member of the Board of Directors since 2011. He has served on and often leads a number of the organization’s
committees and task forces, including: Executive, Legislative Steering, YPN, Convention, Professional Development, Global Business Alliance,
Communications, and as 2020 chair of the Finance Committee.
Seth has served as a chairman of the NAR Federal Finance & Housing Policy Committee and is currently on the Board of Directors of NAR as well as past
Chair of the Conventional Financing & Policy Committee and is currently appointed to the Corporate Investor Council. He earned the Green and Certified
Residential Specialist (CRS) professional designations from NAR and is a 2015 NAR Leadership Academy graduate. He contributes to RPAC at the Golden R
Major Investor level and is a President’s Circle member. Seth is a member of the inaugural class of the Ohio REALTORS RPAC Hall of Honor inducted in 2019
and will be inducted into the NAR RPAC Hall of fame this year.
Civically, he has been involved with the Solon Chamber of Commerce, served on the Board of Directors of Neighborhood Housing Services of Greater
Cleveland, and has been a Cleveland Masonic Lodge Brother since 1995.
He and his wife, Lesley, live in Gates Mills with his two sons, Ryan and Elliot. His daughter Madison is a graduate of The Ohio State University and resides in
Columbus.

Ohio Division of Real Estate & Professional Licensing
The Ohio Division of Real Estate and Professional Licensing is a part of the Ohio Department of Commerce; the
Division is the official licensing agency for all 45,000 real estate licensees in Ohio. The Division is staffed by 40
professionals in Columbus a who carry out the decisions of the Ohio Real Estate Commission.
Staff processes initial applications and renewals of more than 45,000 real estate licensees annually, monitor the quality of continuing
education courses and investigate complaints filed regarding the conduct of licensees.
Ohio Real Estate Commission
The Ohio Real Estate Commission is a five-member group, appointed by the Governor, that meets once a month in the Division
offices. Four of the five must be active brokers. Commissioners set licensing requirements, make rules concerning licensees, handle
complaints about violations of state laws and regulations and suspend and revoke licenses. Commissioners also certify courses
for continuing education credit and oversee the Recovery Fund.

Ohio Real Estate Appraiser Board
The Ohio Real Estate Appraiser Board functions like the Ohio Real Estate Commission. The Board is the last stop for disputes over
licenses and over licensees’ actions. It can choose to renew licenses for appraisers who miss renewal deadlines; it can revoke or
suspend licenses when it determines appraisers violated appraisal laws.
The Board is a Governor-appointed panel with rule making authority over the group it regulates--the appraisers. The state Legislature
enacts laws concerning appraisers, such as how many hours the state requires for licensing and certification;
Board members set specific policies to carry out those laws. Its Cleveland based staff of five--known as the Appraisal Section--is an
arm of the Ohio Division of Real Estate.
