The Leir Foundation
The Leir Foundation’s generosity over the past several years has contributed to the
city’s Lighthouse Program Scholarship Fund allowing 5% of the
students at each Lighthouse site to attend the after school program for free.
The foundation has also been instrumental in helping us move toward our goal of
combating childhood obesity through the yearly donation to Healthy Kids Day. Leir
has provided Lighthouse students with countless experiences by offering educational
workshops and field trips to the Museum of Natural History in NYC. We appreciate
their ongoing professional development series which has enlightened many of us
along the way. We can’t thank Mr. and Mrs. Leir enough for leaving a legacy of giv-
ing and are grateful for their ongoing support and dedication to Bridgeport children.
