Chipmunk Market The Chipmunk Market is located across from the Office and offers a wide selection of forgotten merchandise, Pool parties in the summer! from items like toothbrushes to replacement light bulbs for the trailer. There are a variety of toys for the children, camping equipment, and parts for repair. We also carry Lone Oak clothing and souvenirs. •Bread, Milk, and Juice •Bundled Firewood •Bagged Ice •Candy •Bingo Necessities •ATM •Lone Oak Clothing •General Groceries The hours are posted on the Market door and the recreation schedule. We have soft serve ice cream for milkshakes, sundaes, as well as french fries and breakfast sandwiches. Look Pool & Hot Tub for deli specials like a taco in a bag. Full menus are available inside the Chipmunk Market. We have two pools and one hot tub located behind the Office building. Guests can access them from the front of the Office building near the restrooms or from inside the Rec Hall. The pool area is open from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. Weather permitting, the pools will stay open past Labor Day Weekend. Children under 14 years are not allowed in the pool area without a parent or guardian. You must be 18 years or older to watch over a sibling (under 14yrs) in the pool. Pool and hot tub hours are posted at the pool entrance and listed on the recreation schedule. The pool We have new specials every weekend area hours are subject to weather conditions. Those 16 years and older are allowed in the hot tub. Due to increased heart rate from heat, it is unsafe for children, and no one under the age of 16 will be allowed in the hot tub. The pools are heated to 80˚F, and the hot tub is heated to 100˚F. The small pool’s depth range is 2.5 feet - 5.0 feet; the large pool’s depth range is 3.0 feet - 5.0 feet. Periodically, we offer pool games and programs such as “adult swim.” These programs allow children to play various games in one pool and adults to enjoy the other pool for one hour without any children in the pool. Pets We do allow pets to camp along with you! T5, T6, and T7 are pet-friendly rental units. Recreation Activities Activity Schedule Guests can find a hard copy of scheduled activities and updates for the weekend outside the Office. The schedule is also available on Lone Oak Park Channel 2, our website, and in CampersApp. During the summer months weekday activities are also offered. Our recreation team members are always coming up with new and fun ideas for kids of all ages to enjoy. Activities include: Arts and Crafts, Relay Races, Parachute Games, Pool Games, Basketball and Baseball Tournaments, Capture the Flag, Hayless Hayrides, Pool Parties, Kids Only Hour Dances, DJ Dances, and so much more! Pumpkin Patch during our Fall Festivities Weekend Curious about an event? Channel 3 is updated each weekend to showcase photos of previous activities. Game Fields & Courts We have three horseshoe pits: next to Lori’s Pond, in Spider’s Web by the restrooms, and behind the rental trailers. Horseshoes can be obtained in the Office with your driver’s license as a deposit. Licenses are returned to you upon return of the horseshoes. There may be a rental time limit during busier times. The softball diamond is located down by the bridge. The soccer field is across the road from the softball field. The recreation fields are behind the main building and across from the main building (rec field #2: Starlight Stage, and rec field #3). There is a volleyball court and full basketball court, as well as other game fields. See a campground map on page 13-14 for locations. Bike Decorating Contest winner Recreation Hall The Recreation Hall is located in the main building complex. Here, the entire family is treated to professional acts and DJs. Rec hall hours are 8am-10pm, Sunday through Thursday, and 8am-11pm, Friday and Saturday. The rec hall is a non-smoking building. Propane Tanks For your family and our staff member’s safety, separate disposable (1.0lb.) green propane cylinders from all other garbage. Do not place cylinders inside bags or boxes. Keep them out of the trash and recycling collection for staff to pick up and dispose of properly. Outdated Propane Tanks Any propane tank under 100 lbs. has a Department of Transportation (DOT) date stamped on them. If a propane tank is more than 12 years old, it cannot be refilled unless recertified. Lori’s Pond - Fishing Weekend We have 20lb. and 30lb. propane tanks for sale that are purged and filled. Stop by the Office to purchase a new propane tank. Refills Fishing If you need a propane tank refilled, stop by the Office, The Blackberry River they will contact a staff member to refill it for you. The Blackberry River is located by the ball field and under the bridge into the campground. The state stocks fish in this river and a state fishing license is required for people ages 16 and older to fish. Lori’s Pond is Catch and Release Only Lori’s Pond is located next to the rec field and is stocked annually by Lone Oak with trout. We reserve this area for children 15 years and under (no license required). Fishing License You can purchase a fishing license by visiting your town hall or at the local bait shop, Jim’s Bait & Tackle, 860- 824-5773, or buy your license online. Go to www. ct.gov and choose ‘Purchase a Hunting or Fishing License.’ Tackle and nightcrawlers are available for sale at the Golf Tournament Chipmunk Market. There is also local fishing at Twin Lakes (approx. 15 minutes away). Pick up directions in the Office. Golf Tournaments are open to all campers. A $20 fee and registration are required in advance. Multiple priz- es are awarded. Events are held at the Canaan Country Club. Contact Paul Koutsopoulos site 543 to register for the tournament dates. Golf Cart Rentals Lone Oak offers the rental of eight 4-seat gas golf carts. Weekend reservations require a two-day minimum and a three-day minimum on Holidays. Reserve a golf cart by calling the Office or on our online reservation website. There is a $50 reservation deposit to reserve a golf cart. Prices do not include 6.35% Sales Tax. Gas is included. Golf carts are rented after 3pm and must be returned by 2pm the following day Security Deposit $200 1 Day $88 2 Days $176 (additonal $88) Rental Golf Carts can be booked online 3 Days $244 (additonal $68) 4 Days $304 (additonal $60) Rules for renting and operating a golf cart: 1. Lessee must be a minimum of 21 years old. 5 Days $359 (additonal $55) 2. Operator(s) of Golf carts must be minimum 16 years of age and have in their possession a valid drivers 6 Days $409 (additonal $50) license (Moped license, learner's permit, etc. are not acceptable) Weekly $454 (additonal $45) 3. Golf Carts operated after sunset must have lights turned on. 4. Golf Carts cannot be operated during quiet hours (11pm to 8am weekends, 10pm to 8am weekdays). 5. Golf Carts must be operated properly. Horseplay, racing, or other misuses of the cart will not be tol- erated. Carts are to be operated on the blacktop, gravel roadways, and flat open fields only. No driving through campsites or other restricted areas. The speed limit is strictly enforced. 6. Golf Carts must remain on Lone Oak property at all times. Do not drive on or near Rt 44. 7. Golf Carts must be returned at the designated time. Christmas in August Late returned carts will be charged $10 for every hour late. 8. Golf Carts can carry a maximum of 4 people, and all passengers must be seated at all times when the golf cart is in motion. 9. Lost keys incur a $20 charge. 10. Anyone found abusing the rules and regulations of rental golf carts will forfeit all rental privileges. There will be no refunds made if the cart has been returned or confiscated because of Lessee’s misuse. 11. Lessee must present a valid credit card to be able to rent a golf cart. Golf Cart Rules Golf carts and unregistered motorized vehicles operated on Lone Oak Campsites property will be required to have personal liability insurance coverage. A copy of the Certificate of Liability insurance will be required to operate a golf cart or unregistered motor vehicle. We ask that you register your golf cart/unregistered motor vehicle with the Office. The household members who will operate the golf cart must be listed and sign the registration form. Keep in mind that the permissible operators must possess a valid driver’s license. Visitor Rates & Policies All campers are responsible for ensuring their visitors register at the Office and pay their admission fee.
